Personal Reflective Essay: College Admission

Pursuing a degree with APUS is the next big step to furthering my education and starting a career. I have children. I 'm a mother of four and I always wanted what was best for them. I had to make certain decisions and scafices for them and not going to college is one.

CCU showed me that it doesn 't matter what your going threw It 's never to late to get an education. Everyone in my family was telling me to enroll back in school I have to admit I was kind of scared to but I 'm here today now back in school. I feel that CCU has everything I need and especially GOD!! I never knew there was a Christian University until my girlfriend told me and that made me want to enroll fast.

As I walked out of the airport, unfamiliar faces surrounded me. I was beginning my first week in the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere -Haiti. We rode in an open air box truck to where we would be staying, bouncing out of our seat with every bump along the way. I saw people washing dishes, bathing and going to the bathroom all within the same water source- while on ride to the compound. Throughout the week, children laughed and took many pictures with me.

A great deal of the people there were homeless. Although even if you weren’t homeless you weren’t much better off. The homes were cement or tin walls with a tin roof. I made me so sad how bad off people are down

Having a school that was still remotely close to my family was important when I was choosing a school. Connections. Making connections for myself was really important to me when I was choosing a college. As a cinema arts and science student, I didn’t just want to go to a school that was only going to teach me new skills and techniques. I wanted a school that was going to help me make connections and help me network for my future.

This mission that I share with the University means a lot to me because it 's also something I can bring back to my community. Being a part of USF would help me develop in another way of life where I can become more professional and just a better person overall. I would like to help the world become more successful and live in a community where faith and justice exist. I enjoy been Christian, it shaped me into the man I have grown into. The beliefs, values and family traditions that I have are the foundations of who I am.

After high school, I will be going to a community college. While I’m in college, I will look for a pathway that I might like and maybe I might even study for it. After college I will transfer to university and study mechanical engineering because that’s what I want to do. I choose this path because I am interested in working with cars. It is also something i would like to do in future.

My plan for academic success My plan for academic success is to graduate high school, go to college and then become a nuclear engineer or a professional athlete. I also believe it is important that I find a job that makes me happy, a job that I like doing and enjoy. For the next three semesters graduating high school will have the most importance to me. Then of course I would go to college after high school to help further my education and help prepare me to be more successful in life. Then to the real world with a job in a form of engineering, which I have planned for since high school.

College is stressful, yet worthwhile Before going to college, I have heard from people that freshman year of college is unchallenging. I am midway into completing my freshman year, and I believe, so far, college is tough. I would like to describe it as stressful yet worthwhile. During this letter, I will talk about the first mistake I have made as a freshman, ways I manage stress through a busy college schedule, and how my viewpoint of nursing has changed.

Academic success to me is achieving good grades and understanding the material to get good grades. Academic success also means to have an good attendance. I already get mostly A’s and B’s, but I am not good at staying on top of things. To improve my academic success I will attend class more often, be more organized, pay attention in class, and not procrastinate.

Nearly a decade ago, I sat down with my parents and discussed the future of my education which at the time felt like a punishment. I was fortunate enough to have parents who care deeply about my education. After what seemed like an eternity to a pre-teen, my parents told me that they decided to homeschool me because they didn't believe that the school system was doing everything that it could. As a result, I found myself surrounded by loving people who enjoyed education and promoted the idea of producing a product that you're comfortable putting your name on. As a homeschooler, I received advice about the future from my parents and other parents who taught their own children.

In my time away from the university I have learned to embrace myself for who I truly am and what I am capable of. I decided I wanted to focus on my career while keep up my volunteering I started in school. I compelled myself to make all necessary sacrifices to be successful while sticking to my morals. I have gained a passion for equality and fighting for what is right and just, believing everyone should have a chance at the American dream; the pursuit of happiness. I gained a new work ethic, by focusing my time on moving up the ladder in my job.

What makes me an ideal candidate for the scholarship program is a very hard question to answer, in which I for one cannot answer alone. However, I can set some of my attitudes, values, and traits and share my characteristics as a person that I hope can help me to be qualified for this scholarship. First and foremost, upon applying to this scholarship, there is only one thing that is set to my mind, and that is to help my parent’s in their expenses throughout my college, I know that college is by far the most expensive enrollment that a student to enter, for this serves as a stepping stone for students success, or me rather to pursue my future career in the future. This is my story of how college changed me forever, in ways I could never have anticipated before. My name is Priya and I was always your typical South Indian girl, with traditional parents and an even more traditional approach to boys and in particular, to sex. I had always thought I would find one nice decent guy and wait with him until our marriage day until we consummated our love for each other. Never in my wildest dreams in high school did I imagine myself turning into the slut I became when I went to college. I had been excited to go to Sweden to pursue my undergraduate degree there, but I was instantly shocked by how different the culture was from back home.

Personal Reflection By the time i'm 30 years old I aspire to have a family, a wife, a nice home and a respectable career that I can support my family with, here is my plan to achieve those goals. When I graduate Hidden Valley High School this June I'm going to start packing my bags and I plan to be moved up to Bend, Oregon by early August. I will be living with my generous grandparents who are allowing me to live in their home for free, but of course i'll help out with bills here and there and pay for groceries every now and again. Ill be moved into my grandparents house early August so that will give me enough time to find a stable job to help me out with my electrical apprenticeship and hopes of finding an apartment for a later time.
