Let Them Eat Cupcakes
As famed cookbook author Anne Byrn proclaims, “When you look at a cupcake, you’ve got to smile.” A truer statement has never been spoken. Cupcakes, unlike boring, drab old cake, bring joy and happiness into the world; their cuteness and wonderfulness make the world a better place. Cupcakes should be eaten instead of cake because they are more convenient and their taste is superior to cake.
One reason cupcakes are superior to cake is their convenience. Sophomore year is full of Sweet 16’s, which means lots of cake. How exciting. At all the parties I’ve been to (disclaimer: it’s like four I’m not Regina George or anything), there has been cake. Each time, I’ve gotten a slice. Each time, I felt dejected. The cake was always too

In previous years, I had not cared so much; cake was usually the dessert provided. However, when this year’s celebration came around, I thought back to parties I’ve had over the years and parties I had been to recently. The inconvenience cake had brought (disappointing frosting to cake ratio, never the right amount of cake, always too much left over, having to deal with a pesky fork, etc.) coupled with the cuteness of cupcakes led me to have cupcakes at my party. As soon as my friends and I started eating the cupcakes, gone were the days of dissatisfaction and the general sadness caused by cake. The pure joy radiating off the faces of my guests further proved the fact that cupcakes are superior to cake, due in large part to their convenience.
Another reason cupcakes are better than cake is taste. I need both hands to count the number of bad cakes I’ve had, but I only need two fingers to count the number of bad cupcakes I’ve had (a chocolate Walmart cupcake and a batch of strawberry cupcakes that I only put half the required amount of sugar in [honestly I don’t think those count, but for the sake of being truthful I’m including them anyway]). Even though it may seem hard to believe, I actually somewhat like
I’m not gonna be like you babies eating cupcakes. One of the other
At the first glance the article is about a woman who reminisces about her childhood though the love of Twinkies, she is now grown and understands the truth about Twinkies and how unhealthy they are but still longs for the “snack cake” as her guilty pleasure. The meaning of the Twinkie changes and evolves though out the article and can be interpreted to represent multiple things. While labor issues were a factor in Hostesses bankruptcy, some of the blame can be placed on the migration of people leaning towards heathier options of food. Nguyen encapsulate this concept into a metaphor for the expansion of tolerance and open mindedness in the US now creating a heathier society. Even though the society she lives in now is ‘heathier’ she still reminisces about the Twinkie days where she could digest Twinkies (American culture) without worrying about its effect on her health (mind).
I read A Piece of Cake: A Memoir. It was written by Cupcake Brown. This book was very inspiring and emotional. The story begins with a memory as to why her mother named her Cupcake. Cupcake 's mother died when she was 11.After that she got taken away from the family she knew.
Mardi Gras offers a variety of foods and desserts. There is a famous treat during Mardi Gras. This treat is called a king cake. It is a cake that is in the shape of a crown. The cake is decorated with the colors of Mardi Gras.
Janie explains that she does not regret anything she has or done with Tea Cake. She would not have done anything differently to save her life. This love and marriage has the most impact on
Morning everyone! It 's National Banana Split Day so I 'm thinking sugar high to speed us through the day before Friday! Sweet memories remain with me of Misenheimer 's ice cream parlor where friends and I made quick work of a bowl of goodness like I posted above. Chocolate syrup, followed by pineapple was my favorite topping on that decadence.
After reading Hibben’s critique I agree with the statements she makes. Hibben’s talks about how Tea Cake and Janie’s relationship was different from the others. When Janie was with Mister Killicks she didn’t care about his “land, and his sagging belly, and his toenails that looked like mules’ feet,” she wanted love not material things. Janie wasn’t pleased with all the nice things she could obtain from marrying Mister Killicks, she was looking for the happiness love would give her, not what Killicks had.
But as time goes on Tea cake and Janie start to develop a stronger relationship. Tea cake takes on a whole new role in Janie's life and helps to push her to achieving her dreams. Unlike all the other men that Janie had been with Tea Cake was more of a supporter. Most of all Tea Cake actually loved her and Janie loved
The addictive food that is sold by supermarkets is made to appeal to the consumers’ taste and make them addicted to it. In Michael Moss’ “The Extraordinary Science of Addictive Junk Food,” he mentions that the potato chip is a snack that provides a feeling of pleasure as well as a rewarding sensation in the brain through its coating of salt and fat (490). Small details food companies put in the food make a difference in the taste, which tends to attract more consumers without them aware of how they are being addicted to the food. In food companies’ perspective, the engineering of food to add more flavor and attract more consumers has no issue since it is how companies make their profits. Stephen Sanger, head of General Mills and the Yoplait brand, was able to produce $500 million in revenue from a new dessert that originated from the yogurt since it maintains a nutritive image with consumers (Moss 475-476).
Furthermore, she is mature enough to appreciate this new relationship because Tea Cake is very open and honest with her. Lastly, being till the end with tea Cake, empower Janie as a women and she is finally comfortable being alone. Before tea Cake even come Janie has a sense of being a prideful and strong woman. However, upon Tea Cake’s arrival she reaches a different level of spirituality.
With Tea Cake, she could be herself. He allowed her to be herself because he loved her the way she was and didn’t want to make her change to be something she wasn’t. Tea Cake encouraged Janie to be what she wanted and to follow her dreams and aspirations. Janie finally was able to find the bee to pollinate her pear blossom. She loved him with all her heart.
The next time I pipe I will make fewer mistakes and will not have to go through the same trial and error as I previously had to. During the process of making the cake and decorating it I have learnt the best way to perform this task and the next time I make it I will be able to do it faster because I won’t need to constantly read the recipe. I also know the best way to make the recipe and have slightly adapted the recipe to get the correct consistency. In the future, I will remember the adaptations I made and will be able to perform them immediately (Nelson, 1988: 637). There are many different levels of occupation that combine during making a cake.
The topic of chocolate milk can be thought of in many different ways. But a very significant topic is brought up various times, including student debates. Should chocolate milk be served in schools? I believe that chocolate milk should be served in schools. This is because chocolate milk helps keep bodies stay healthy, and it helps children maintain a beneficial diet, since it is just as good as white milk.
Chocolate’s Health Benefits On average, Americans eat 2.8 billion pounds of chocolate each year, that is roughly 11 pounds per person. Imagine how many more people would consume this savory sweet if it was officially healthy. Some do consider properties and ingredients in the chocolate healthy. Others only see the sugar and additives some chocolate contains.
Many bakers love to make cakes like that to show their artistic ability and to test their reaches in the baking world. Many bakers like to vary their cakes. A galaxy cake is just one example but it shows how we have developed from just cooking to eat to cooking to eat and be creative. I have been influenced by cooking for my entire fifteen years of life. My mom and dad have been cooking for me and my brother for my whole life.
