Volunteering weekly is very challenging, but it shows people the amount of drive and effort that person has. Many colleges and employers look for well rounded students and employees. Volunteering is where someone can simply build their resume. Volunteering shows that a person is willing to put in effort, without a reward. In addition people will learn new skills and practice problem solving

Getting to know each other and form relationships with those around us can make all the difference.

Community service or volunteering hours is a need for every high school student to be eligible to attend college. It is an opportunity that is given to change people 's lives, including yours. Volunteering is like a win-win situation where you feel good to achieve more knowledge and others feel good because they are getting helped. Although it may be considered unpaid work volunteering can also be a great way to explore, or gain experience for your new job or career especially for me since I want to be a doctor. People need attention elders for example, do not get that many visitors at care centers.

Imagine living on the streets and having to look for food, not knowing when your next meal was coming. What would you do? Where would you go? This is a daily existence for our clients!

Volunteering is an opportunity to make a lasting contribution in the community. Through this rewarding experience, I not only gained my service hours, but I also was able to contribute a connection with the faculty. I could always go back to them for additional support or advice. Interacting with them enhanced my communication skills. Despite all of this, I noticed how much I enjoyed interacting with children and the faculty.

In the duration of my middle school years, I maintained excellent grades, except I had just one issue that held me back from a satisfying life. That issue was the fact that friends came very hard to me in my middle school years. Before my struggles at my middle school, Trafton, I had a very productive social life in the Elementary school I attended, Roberts Elementary. Here, it was very easy to make friends and have a great social life, since no hard work was required as a kid. Middle school, however, was a great challenge for me.

At that point you are either too busy checking your phone not paying attention not truelly following what he/ she is saying or maybe you were too young you didn’t know what you wanted to do with your life quite yet… too afraid to even think about death, I mean am so young I need to live life a little more. The most important lesson that WEP has helped me learn this year is that conversing with people, recruiters and my peers, is easy and can even be fun. When I arrived at UT for the fall semester, I was that freshman; the one who kept to herself and only managed to have monosyllabic conversations. I was petrified of EXPO and just could not seem to separate the recruiters from their companies even though I knew they were ordinary people. WEP changed all of that for me.

It 's a hot a sunny day and also the first day of high school for 14 year old Audrey Wells. She walks past the local soup kitchen and sees volunteers inside laughing and having fun, wishing she had something like that she continued on her walk to school. As she enters her class her teacher says that he requires 10 community service hours per quarter to get a passing grade. He also says that there are many benefits to community service such as, getting teens out of their homes, giving adolescence a feel of the real world and, and providing students with chances to meet people outside of school that would get to personally know us. In the future all these things will be very beneficial to these students everyday lives.

The adolescents must not be shy, or afraid to initiate conversations, which obviously lacks in those who have social phobia. Moreover, it is very important that one should be honest in their opinions, and not just say what they think the other person wants to or would like to hear, as that causes a distance in their relation. Therefore, it is necessary for one to develop this in adolescence, because “it is during adolescence that the interactional processes that demand and foster close relationship competencies become central in friendship relations”. Thus, learning to develop such intimacy is important in forming relations as early as adolescence (Buhrmester D. , 1990).
