The hustle and bustle of a hospital has been a part of my life since I was little. My step-father was in and out of the hospital constantly with unknown illnesses which eventually took his life earlier this year. Since I could remember, I was in awe, watching doctors and nurses.I have always admired the hospital staff for all that they do and I have known for so long that the medical field was for me. Being a Physician's Assistant is a rewarding and difficult job, and I believe I have the drive and personality to succeed in this career. Helping others has always been a passion of mine and it brings me satisfaction knowing I am lending a hand those in need. My chosen degree program at Kaplan University is a bachelor’s in health science. I chose this degree program because I am an aspiring physician assistant(PA). I chose this field of study because I have always been inspired to provide service to my community. My mother was a police officer and my father worked as an EMT. I did not choose their specific fields; however, I chose something that I knew fit me.
Physician assistants work under the supervision of a physician. The service provided by a PA is contingent upon their education, experience, the state laws, facility policies and the needs of the patients at the practice. The standards which defines the service that PAs provide allow for faster, effective and specialized health care. Physician Assistants are licensed to obtain patient medical histories, conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret test, develop treatment plans, assist in surgery, write prescriptions for controlled substances, and educate and counsel patients.

There are many policies and laws for a medical assistant to stay within the scope of practice when dealing with bookkeeping, record keeping, and payroll. While it is important to keep a patient's information confidential, it is also quite important to pay attention to the details, accuracy, and ethical standards of a patient's record. Someone that is a medical assistant has a large amount of tasks that need to be completed along with personal and professional qualities that need to be retained. As a medical assistant we have much responsibilities in the medical office. When it comes to physical therapy and rehabilitation we have a few different roles to do. It is important that we have enough motivation. For example, We may consist with helping them walk . Assisting in rehabilitation may also mean, that you deal with the same patients.
Becoming a dental assistant is something that I have had a desire to do for three years. I had braces for three years, and throughout that time I was in and out of the dental office. Seeing the way these assistants helped my teeth and confidence was amazing. I realize I need to help people. With my background being a CNA for just a little over two years, I have learned to care for people in various ways.
A career as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is a natural extension of my personal, educational, and research experiences. Although my path to nursing has not been a straight line, every experience that put me on this path has shaped my passion and dedication to psychiatric nursing. After losing loved ones to suicide at a young age, I made a promise to myself and to them that I would dedicate my life to helping individuals struggling with mental illness. My reason for this selection is because it gives you the independency of a Physician while having somewhat less responsibilities. I have been volunteering since I was in high school. I continue to volunteer my time and resources to various organizations in my community. I believe in giving back to society and helping those in need. For me volunteering is about what I can do for others without seeking monetary gain or acknowledgement. I get satisfaction in knowing I was able to help someone or be a part of something.
I am a person that likes to help others now that is because. It puts you in a better mood so you can feel good about yourself because you know you did good and, helped someone who was in a tough situation. I also like to help people because you can change the way they think completely to make them see the good in the world. When I help people I think that I could be saving them because some people can be one bad thing away from making a bad choice.
