ln the two-hundred & forty years since its founding, the United States of America has grown from several colonies banding together for survival to a great world superpower with significant influence in world affairs. The backbone of this nation's success can be found in its Constitution, the document that defines the properties of the country's branched government, guidelines for laws, and rights for its citizens. Under the Constitution, the U.S. has prospered. lt has, in more recent years, exposed some flaws; such as antiquated language and outdated processes, but they are easily fixed. These qualities have allowed the U.S. to become known as one of the beacons of the free world, in that it imposes order without constraining its citizens rights, allowing one to live their life as they see fit. The main section of the Constitution is split into articles which talk about specific functions of the government. The first three articles lay a balance between the three sections of government, the legislative, executive, and judicial; so that no one branch has more power than the others. This is crucial to having a fair government that serves the people, not itself. ln this way, there have been few noticeable power struggles in the history of the nation. The proceeding articles state some important guidelines for running the country. ln practice, the Constitution has served the U.S. well throughout its time on earth. The branches of government have never really overshadowed one another because of the balance of powers. The court system, while human and thusly imperfect, has done well in serving justice to those who offend it, whilst the innocent are saved more often than not.
A constitution is in essence rules that creates a government. In general, every modern written constitution discusses explicit rules to a government entity based upon the fundamental stipulation that it accepts the assumed that it follows the legitimate guidelines. In the last century, there have been numerous influences of new constitutions. In the 90’s the most recent trend of new constitutions was seen. Countless countries imitated the United States constitution.
The Constitution guarded against tyranny due to the principles of government and the Great Compromise. This argument will be proven by Federalism, Separation of Powers, Checks and Balances, and the NJ and VA plans. Federalism guarded against tyranny by making sure the state and central governments can check each other to ensure neither government has total control. In Federalist Papers #51, Madison states, “the different government will each control each other, that at the same time that each will be controlled by itself.” Our government, being split into three branches, controls each other and makes sure that one branch won’t be able to gain more power.
This country could be improved through people accepting their responsibilities themselves. "A good constitution is the greatest blessing which a socie-ty can enjoy." So said James Wilson, in his oration at Philadelphia on July 4, 1788. America 's Constitution did not mention freedom of enterprise per se, but it did set up a system of laws to secure individual liberty and freedom of choice in keeping with Creator- endowed natural rights. Out of these, free enterprise flourished naturally.
The greatest fear of the Founding Fathers was to have a government ruled by one person, a tyrant. After the revolutionary war against Great Britain, the Americans wanted to make sure that they would be seen as an independent and strong newly emerged country. Their first shot at a government was with the Articles of Confederation. However, they failed because the central government that had been put in place was weak. Noticing that that was a problem, the founding fathers sought to make a stronger government.
The branches of Government When the constitution was written it was written so that no one person could have all the power of the government. The constitution wanted to make sure that all people could have the benefits of the federal government but still live with separate state laws. Because no man is immune from enticements of evil, none can be trusted and invested with limitless power. (Lapeer, RUsseell W. issue 6 p. 2).
The Constitution guarantees rights and fair treatment for everyone. The rights that the Founders outlined in the Constitution include those reserved for the federal government as well as those reserved for the people. These rights have been altered throughout the years, and some continue to be debated. Policies have been put in place to deal with those who decide to disturb the peace and break the laws. The structure of America’s society relies on these rights and laws.
The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States of America. The Constitution is the outline our founding fathers created to describe the nature and functions of government. Its first three articles consist of a doctrine of the separation of powers, which divides the federal government into three branches: the legislative, consisting of Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. The constitution is meant to govern the federal government while the bill of rights is meant to govern the

DBQ Essay The United States Constitution is a document that or founding fathers made in order to replace the failing Articles of Confederation (A of C). Under the Constitution, the current government and states don’t have the problems they faced when the A of C was in action. The Constitution was created in 1788, and held an idea that the whole nation was nervous about. This idea was a strong national government, and the Federalist assured the people that this new government would work. The framers of the Constitution decided to give more power to the Federal government rather than the state governments because the A of C had many problems, there was a need for the layout of new government, rights, and laws, and there was a need for the Federal
(The Three Branches) should not be so far separated as to have no constitutional control over each other.” In conclusion, the constitution protected us from tyranny using the three methods,Equal Representation from all the States, Federalism, and the system of checks and balances. The framers succeeded in creating a well built constitution because all three methods have created security that no tyrant, or tyranny would
Since the United States was relatively a new nation, it needed some form of organization to hold the states together and keep its government and society stable to build a stronger economy (Knoedl, 2003). The first and foremost inherited weakness of the Articles came from the fact that it replaced sovereign power in the hands of the states. This started after the American Revolution, when the American people feared that the colonists would form a new government that could function similarly to King George III’s monarchy after having dealt with the British Crown for years. Since then these states would start creating their own set of rules and laws and because of some states, creating their own constitutions and each state can rule itself, it gave more power to them than the actual Federal Government.
It provides the overall structure of our democratic government. By separating powers into three branches and creating a system of checks and balances between the branches, it continues a long tradition in American
The first article of the Constitution says "ALL legislative powers...shall be vested in a Congress." The second article then reads "the executive power...in a President." The third article gives the "judicial power of the United States in one Supreme Court" and "in such inferior Courts as the Congress...may establish."
The U.S. Constitution What is the preamble to the constitution? The preamble is important to the constitution because it explains why the constitution was written. The constitution was written because the people wanted to create a nation in which states can work together. The preamble also helps the constitution in the way that it establish justice like making laws and setting up courts that are fair and a jury system. Domestic tranquility is keeping peace within the countries like for example the national guard and the federal marshals which the preamble states.
