I arrived at the Volupides residence on October 13th, 1982 at 1:15 a.m. When I arrived, Arthur was dead at the bottom of the stairs. Queenie, his wife, was very upset when I arrived, indicating that the murder/accident might have just happened. There was something cooking in the kitchen, specifically over the stove. The light fixtures and the accessories of the staircase were undisturbed. I concluded that he was dead from a wound to the head and that he was intoxicated with alcohol.(Objective Summary) I believe that Queenies claim is true and she did not kill her husband.(Claim) From asking questions to Queenie, her friends, and other residents of the neighborhood, I concluded that Queenie and Arthur had an intense argument. Shortly after, Queenie left to go to a Country Club Grand Opening party. She did not arrive home until late after midnight. Queenie said that she had left the club 10 minutes before her friends to prepare cocktails and snacks so it would be ready when her friends got there. When …show more content…
Therefore, Queenie heard him fall and was very shocked to see him instantly dead at the bottom of the stairs. (Evidence 2) Given Queenie’s small stature, it's highly unlikely that she was able to push Arthur down the stairs. I take into account that Queenie was also intoxicated, making it even more unlikely for her to push Arthur down the stairs. (Evidence 3) Arthur is lying on his back. That means in this case, he fell backwards trying to go up the stairs. He probably came down for another drink and while going up the stairs, he almost spilled his drink. He tried to keep his drink from spilling making him lose his balance and fall. He hit his head on something very hard such as the base of the banister, giving him a bad concussion, knocking him out, and causing severe internal bleeding to the brain. (Evidence
A seemingly uncorrelated death of a child becomes an attack on two businesses that brought forth unwanted attention. It reveals how corporations can truly neglect their surroundings and the safety of citizens without remorse. In the quaint town of Woburn, Massachusetts, the death of Anne Anderson’s son due to leukemia quickly transformed from a personal tragedy to an extensive lawsuit. Anne Anderson approached Jan Schlichtmann, a personal injury lawyer, to tackle the case. From the beginning, Anne makes it clear that she does not want money, she simply wants an apology.
Trooper Doherty stated that he asked Tiffany Taylor about their travel itinerary and the odor. He added that Tiffany Taylor stated that they were coming from Atlantic City, NJ, celebrating her birthday and that she had one drink early in the evening. He further stated that Tiffany Taylor advised that she was headed back to Roselle, NJ.
Argumentative Essay: The Crucible In The Crucible Elizabeth, John Proctor's wife could have stepped up and spoken out against her husband and Abigail. The author of The Crucible, Arthur Miller, wrote The Crucible in the 1950s as a way of mimicking the insanity of the Communists during the Red Scare. During the Red Scare, many American citizens were accused of being communists. Arthur Miller himself was also accused of being a communist.
There is physical evidence to support the probable cause of death, there is additional evidence to prove and reveal that there were important suspects involved, and the opposing belief that he committed suicide has inaccurate and inconsistent evidence. The main culprit was George Wilkinson, as he had the strongest motive against Lewis and he was linked with people who could and would help him in his plan to murder Lewis. The owner of the inn, Robert Grinder, could have been involved in order to make a profit, and the inn could have been a trap for Lewis. The innkeeper’s wife would help by acting as a witness and sharing an account (or several accounts) of what had happened in order to be a cover-up. Then, other people linked to this, such as James Neely, would support this account by making a backstory about Lewis’ behavior on the journey and sharing it.
Decisions made in the 1850s ultimately decided the United States fate. From the election of 1856 to the Dred Scott case, the nation would become divided into two. The South was pro-slavery and supported the idea of slavery expanded into western territories, while the North opposed of the idea and was mainly against expanding slavery. Until the 1850s the nation barely balanced the slavery issue.
Did Queenie kill her husband Arthur or did he actually fall down the stairs? That was the question that was asked when Queenie returned to her house and ten minutes later called her friends into her house. Queenie claims that, “Arthur slipped and fell on the stairs”(1 “Slip or Trip”). According to the evidence his body is in the wrong position and the glass in his hand shows that he was set up by Quinnie. Therefore, Quinnie did kill her husband Arthur and set it up to look like Arthur had died on his own.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
Abigail Adams was extremely influential to the nation’s beginnings due to her drive to push certain decisions and debates through the status of her husband. She found the issues of women’s rights and slavery while also finding local politics to be important. As the wife of a president, Abigail Adams was able to use her status in a way to push and bring to life her political agenda. Abigail Adams was able to provide her husband with information and insights of the political situation in Boston during his decade long trip through numerous letters that had been exchanged for so long. Her letters regarding the political situation “included commentary on the American struggle for independence and the political structure of the new republic.”
However, her behavior was inconsistent with that of a grieving widow, raising suspicions among those close to the couple. Furthermore, the scratches and bruises found on Arthur's body suggest that he may have been in a struggle before his death. The tragic end to Arthur's life is a reminder of how quickly things can spiral out of control. His mother, Winnie, speaks of the life he had built for himself and his family, making his death all the more devastating. While it is difficult to understand why Queenie would commit murder, the evidence suggests she

The death of Curley’s wife
It took just forty five days for United States citizens to acquiesce their rights to freedom and privacy for the sake of safety following the events of September 11, 2001. Forty five days is how long it took the United States Congress to pass a law that gave up the very concept of liberty upon which this country is founded. The morning sky was a brilliant shade of blue with not a cloud in sight in New York on that fateful day of September. That all changed at 8:45 AM when a Boeing 767 jet plane tore into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Eighteen minutes later, a second Boeing 767 bit into the sixtieth floor of the south tower.
The superhero or villain that I would like to change places for a day would be Natasha Romanoff, better known as the Black Widow who is apart of The Avengers. Even though she doesn’t have a robotic suit, a hammer, or a shield like some of the other Avengers, she can still take down an entire army with her impressive combat skills. In addition to her amazing fighting talent, Natasha does not age. She was born during WWII, but because her body has been scientifically engineered she is not affected by diseases and aging. Although it would only be a day in which I would not age, it would still be amazing to be one day younger.
