During these few weeks democrats and Republicans Who are running for president were engaged in a battle to win the Iowa caucus. The state of Iowa hosted the first official vote of the 2016 campaign. During the Iowa caucus, different tactics and strategies were used by both parties to gain votes, through the use of persuasion ,repugnant comments, and the use of the media. The two articles I will be discussing, “ Ad Wars of 2016 Campaign Erupt in a Changing TV Arena” by Nick Corasaniti and “Attack ! why next 2 weeks could get nastier than ever” by Jennifer Jacobs.

I think this quote plays a key role in Lanada Boyer’s article when getting her point across in her article; that Natives are a strong group of individuals, capable of overcoming any atrocity that the white man has created. The aforementioned quotation sparked a feeling of gratitude and a sense of belonging. Boyer used captivating words that allowed myself to be put into her shoes and subsequently experience (afar) the hardships that ‘relocation and termination’ program caused. For starters, Hari discusses how society over the years has made misconceptions about addiction, because of this addicts have been wrongfully treated, and blame was placed incorrectly. The author goes on to explain two different stories; both being well known about the prescription drug crisis. One being the fact that even the most powerful drugs such as diamorphine hasn’t caused addiction (Hari). In fact, that didn’t make sense to Hari on how powerful drugs were used in extreme medical cases and through prolonged use none became addicted. This is one of the misconceptions about addiction.

In class, we read and discussed the work and impact of Anna Julia Cooper, a revolutionary figure and early black feminist theorist. Cooper’s position as a Black woman and renowned educator shaped her ideas and applying these ideas to Polo’s article offers a unique perspective.
