Its may 1693 in colonial Massachusetts the salem witch trials are now over and abigail williams is now on her way to a different town to start a new life. I'm running through a dense,dark forest with her uncles stack of green cash that I have just stolen. Im running through the forest yelling that i want to go to boston. While I was walking through the woods Im thinking that all the stuff people were saying about me was true.then all the sudden I heard a sound and then felt like something was chasing me through the woods.

Salem Witch Trials Genocide is the deliberate killing of a large group of people. The Salem Witch Trials of 1692 were an example of a genocide. Women were accused of witchcraft with little to no evidence. These practices were not unlike those of McCarthyism. McCarthyism was a similar incident, in which many people were accused of being secret communists in the 1950’s.

I am here to tell you about what I have discovered by investigating your town of Salem. As I was sitting back listening to all the trail I noticed some things that are rather wrong in my opinion. I believe that Abigail Williams and John Proctor did have an affair with each other, Mary Warren was telling the truth about the girls who were faking witchcraft being used on them, and with the witch trials going on Salem is starting to fall apart. These are just three out of the many things I found wrong due the trials. Everybody in the whole town knew there was always something going on between them to.

The Bible states, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” The Puritans beliefs led to them accusing 20 innocent people of being a witch, this resulted in their deaths in 1692. Even though the Puritans couldn’t see it at the time, their accusations were really based off jealousy, lies, and Salem being divided into two parts. I have lived in Salem my whole life. I have seen it survive with very little, when the people went against each other during King William’s War. I have been around many years, just as you. I have lost friends and family ties with disputes over depending on agriculture or not. Oh!

The narrator describes Salem as a new town with strict puritan way of life and its out look on the rest of the world. The town saw itself as persecuted a legacy of persecution puritans faced in the old world because the puritans sought a community they managed to survive. Around 1692 much that was good about the puritans the narrator suggests has been lost. The Salem witch trials were an opportunity for the neighbors to vent against neighbors to publicly air long standing jealousy to accuse those they disliked and all while sounding righteous and religious. The first scene opens as Tituba the Rev Parisis slave enters the bedroom.

During the seventeenth century, there was a series of court hearings and prosecutions of people who happened to be accused of practicing witchcraft in Massachusetts. These events would later be called the Salem witch trials. In the book titled The Crucible by author Arthur Miller, it is written in the form of a play that has a central idea that explores the Salem witch trials in seventeenth - century Salem, Massachusetts. The main theme that is seen throughout the play is cruelty which can be seen in the way each individual is treated by their peers. The first significant event of cruelty that is seen is within society itself.

In the Salem Witch first instance of witchery is Betty/Elizabeth Parris, along with Abigail Williams when they started to scream and giggle uncontrollably, along with delusions, vomiting, muscle spasms, screaming, and writhing. William Griggs, a physician, diagnosed witchcraftery to the women. Soon, fueled by resentment and paranoia, more and more women were accused of being witches, while the community and system of justice piled up. The Trials had lasted from 1692 to 1693. Some women acted peculiar because of a fungus called “Ergot” that grew on cereals and wheat.

Despite the fact that the chase began in Salem, it spread to the neighboring towns, and the quantity of individuals charged and captured was drastically expanding. Since the correctional facilites progressed toward becoming packed, the blamed witches were kept in different prisons in Salem, Boston and Ipswich. The witches were believed to be extremely hazardous, so they were binded to the dividers in the cell. The Crucible by Arthur Miller is a play about what happened during the Salem Witch Trials. It gives insight about what people had to deal with in this situation and how they handled it. The trials were basically a big test which helped figuring out whether or not people were guilty of witchcraft. This is an example of what a crucible is. In our world today we still have crucibles and even though they are different than back then, they all relate to each other because of what influence they have on people.
