Similarities Between Elijah And Martin Luther King Jr

Mansa Musa was the most known African ruler in the fourteenth century. He was an emperor of the Mali empire. He went on a Religious Pilgrimage to the Mecca which is required now by every Muslim at least once during their entire life. On this four thousand mile trip to Mecca, Musa was able to ensure peace and prosperity in west Africa for decades due to the peace and connections that he established with the middle eastern and European rulers.

The Market Revolution and the Second Great Awakening both dramatically shaped the individual stories of Elijah Pierson and Robert Matthews. When the Market Revolution brought Elijah from New Jersey to New York, his life was a lot different than what he was used to. Elijah had come from a town where everyone attended church and where social hierarchy was unproblematic. At a young age he learned that “God had placed men and women into families and social ranks, then governed their destinies according to his inscrutable Providence” (15). However, when he moved to New York, few people attended church and homelessness was seen all over the streets.

He was an activist that made a significant impact on the world and especially America because he fought for his cause when segregation was an important thing in the US. A big time that he stood up for his and a lot of colored people's rights was at the Selma to Montgomery march in 1965 and this was an important protest because it was a bunch of people fighting for the right to vote. Also, Martin Luther King got shot on April 4, 1968, in a hotel at 6:05 when he was standing outside on the balcony of his hotel room. James Earl Ray was the guy that shot him, and he did it because he thought that the colored should not have any rights and he did not like that he was making change in the US. Martin Luther King supports this quote because he fought for years and years and he finally got what he was working for.

Martin Luther King junior was a very brave man who fought for the right of his fellow negro Americans. Although all his efforts to free racism and black people go in vain resulting in a assassination attack by a white American being named James Earl Ray. Mr. King as a youngster was set apart from others and racially discriminated and all he had as of friendship were his brothers and sisters. All of his other negro classmates were either slaves or were kept home to avoid the outside opinion.  That's when the idea of being an activist struck his mind.

Martin Luther King Jr. is a genius; of this there is no doubt. No single man or woman has done more for the rights of African Americans in the United States of America than Martin Luther King Jr. did in his thirty-nine years on this planet. Martin Luther King Jr. is an iconic figure in American history for his role in the march on Washington, Montgomery bus boycott, in the founding of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and for being a recipient of the Noble Peace Prize. In addition to this, he accomplished one thing that very few people, who have walked this earth, have the privilege of having accomplished this being that he is one of the few human beings that can be known solely by his initials of his name; MLK.

Martin Luther King, Jr. was an extremely impactful activist during the Civil Rights Movement that gave over 2,500 speeches in his lifetime. Of these speeches, his most popular is his famous I Have a Dream speech that he gave on August 28, 1963 in Washington, D.C. during the March on Washington. Even famous speakers like Martin Luther King, Jr. use persuasive techniques to appeal to the different sides of their audiences. In order to appeal to his predominately African American audience, Martin Luther King, Jr. makes reference to Abraham Lincoln and his granting freedom to slaves by signing the Emancipation Proclamation.

Christians and Muslims had different responses to the Black Death. The Black Death, or the Great Plague, is a combination of three plagues from three bacterial strains. The most well-known strain is Bubonic. The Great Plague reached places like the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. Within five years, it had killed between twenty-five and forty-five percent of the infected population.

Intro The prophet Hosea was a part of the northern kingdom which is called Israel. A prophet is a person that speaks about God[Miller (2011) #4] and the truth about him to other people, a prophet challenges the community to abandon evil and live lives of holiness. The prophets have impacted todays society because people today still believe in God and listens to the prophetic voices. Prophets challenge people today to be faithful to the covenant both back when Jesus was around and today.

From the biblical representation of Daniel the prophet started when he along with other men from Judah were imprisoned by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (Daniel 1:1-4) for about 604 B.C. this imprisonment of Judah’s citizens in Babylon continued for about seventy years, as it was predicted by God through Prophet Jeremiah (Jeremiah 25:11). Daniel was the character that was seen as “Empire forecasting prophet”. Without a doubt, Daniel was a translator of imaginings, and from his interpretation, God revealed his plans for the kingdoms which will rise up to supremacy in world history. It is true that Daniel is believed to be the main prophet from Biblical scholars and major reason is that he contained all the important information which God revealed

In Martin Luther King’s speech, the main ideas presented are equality, justice and freedom . King speaks about slavery and how even though slavery has been abolished, many African Americans are still treated unfairly and discriminated because of the colour of their skin. He also speaks about everyone, no matter the race will unite one day because we are all human. He also ‘has a dream’ that one day in the future, people will not judge or make assumptions on the person based on the colour of their skin, but the content of their character, he hopes that one day white children and black children will be able to join hands as brothers and sisters.
