Do you remember reading a thrilling story that you could actually relate too? Numerous stories today tell the inspiring stories of people by many authors; however, I feel The Odyssey and Romeo and Juliet both portray similar themes in the context of the story. For example, both show the importance of love, family, and fate in the context of the story. In the story Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is passionately in love with Juliet.

Gatsby’ tragic flaw eventually leads to his downfall or death in the novel. His tragic flaw involving relationships and false belief reminds the reader of Romeo in the play Romeo and Juliet. In that play, Romeo believes that it is fate to fall in love with Juliet, a women from an opposing women who contains animosity to Romeo’s family. He completely evades all of the information and details given to him and consistently works to make Juliet love him as much as he loves her. Romeo, like Gatsby, eventually has a downfall leading to his death when he witnesses a “dead Juliet’ and kills himself if he can’t be with her.

People want to love and to be loved; yet life gets complicated when the person you love doesn’t feel the same way about you. F. Scott Fitzgerald shows that Tom is obsessed with Daisy and wants her to proclaim her love for him. Gatsby’s life revolves around his love for Daisy, although Daisy does not feel the same way about Gatsby. Gatsby thinks the love from Daisy is real even though she doesn’t truly love him. Gatsby tries to convince Daisy’s husband, Tom, that Daisy is in love with Gatsby.

Gatsby filled the void in his heart by surrounding himself with expensive things, but the way in which he acquired his wealth, though not clearly stated in the novel, can be assumed he took the easy way of turning to a life of crime. Gatsby’s romantic view of money did not prepare him for the selfish and corrupt circle of people in which he would soon be associated with. Although through Nick’s narration, Gatsby is portrayed as more of a kind man than the audience has perceived.

First, Gatsby desires to have Daisy and will do anything to get her attention. Throughout the book Gatsby tries many different ways to catch Daisy’s attention. For instance, "Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay, (63). Gatsby has very strong feelings for Daisy and he starts by getting close to her so he can see her. Gatsby threw tons of parties trying to get Daisy to attend.

She’s consistently on his mind and he focuses on every aspect of her life that she desired to win her over again just like in the past. Gatsby longed for Daisy for many years that it consumed everything about his lifestyle. He feels that he must live up to the American Dream to achieve his dream of rekindling his relationship with Daisy. Gatsby says, “’Can't repeat the past?’” he cried incredulously.

Gatsby is Obsessed AF When humans fall in love, sometimes the extent to which it occurs may lead to an obsession. Obsession can come in different forms, but most of the time it leads to a devastation of the individual. While being deeply in love with another is most of the time a good thing, once the obsession kicks in, certain conflicts may arise.

And thus he wished that Daisy could get up the nerve and reveal her feelings for him as he had done for her . In my points of view , the greatest of faults of Gatsby were perhaps that he did not try to understand and be considerate of the woman . If there is what I was struck impressed by in this book would be this ; It is the very importance of understanding and taking care of the other party ; and it is not just applied to love , I think . Gatsby devoted himself to her with what was the best he could do . But he did not grasp and give attention to the way of loving the opponent party expressed .

He falls in love with her because they are young and she's beautiful; but his love increases as he builds this idea of her in his mind that her beauty is inherently connected to her wealthy status. Thus, his initiative to become rich was part of his effort of living up to this conception he had of Daisy. In Gatsby’s mind, he legitimately loves her but truthfully a part of him is only infatuated with the idea of her. In this respect Daisy is not the person he believes her to be, only because in his mind, she is an impossibly perfect girl frozen in the

The Montagues made the statue of Juliet as a peace offer to the Capulets. When the statue is revealed there was red writing going across Juliet’s stomach that said harlot. The Capulets did not like their daughter being called harlot so the Capulets picked a fight with the Montagues. The Capulets thought the Montagues was being shady and petty to their dead daughter.
