1. In the middle childhood, children are trying to acquire a sense of industry as opposed to a sense of inferiority. It is important that the parents enforce a positive attitude towards schoolwork, help the child learn tools that they are expected to learn during school and teach the child to take responsibility for his or her actions. Children are supposed to be able to do a task with little to no remind about it. Now that the child is older the parents should pay attention to the child’s social and psychological needs. The child needs to start refining their social skills and increasing their sophistication. 2. Some changes that occur when the parent transitions from parenting a preschooler to a school age child is the child’s responsibility, the parenting focus and the methods used. Before the parents were looking at the physical needs of the child. Now that the child is older most of those physical skills are perfected and they need to see how the child is feeling emotionally.
