Statement Of Purpose: A Career As A Nurse Anesthesiologist

. Here is where I come in; graduating in 1998 from the title of a Medical Assistant II to State Certified, nurse and HHA nurse of 19 years. I have had the chance to operate multiple machines from the EKG heart monitor on down to the blood pressure cuff. However, people have been using devices in their homes for many years’ due to disorder like cardiovascular, respiratory, oral, gastrointestinal, and amputee’s have the independent security of using devices in their home.

We tend to put our trust, in the hands of the doctors. Also families don’t tend to question the decisions or procedures doctors take when curing a patient. This reflects to my own family, because my mother is a great believer in doctors, in test results and also medicine.

The major assumption underlying the development of the position paper was that "education for those in the health professions must increase in depth and breadth as scientific knowledge expands." This can truly be done effectively when one gets to personally understand their patient, not just in a medical setting but beyond that. As a Physician’s Assistant we are not only working with the health and scientific aspect, rather it is a combination of health and culture that someone comes from. There are a significant amount of skeptics out in the world that are wary when it comes to information from healthcare providers. Having that ability to effectively create a comfortable environment which providing accurate and effective information is essential. By having the opportunity to practice as a physician's assistant I would be able to help others in various specialties as well.

Not a single person in my family is involved in medicine. Nor do they enjoy being anywhere near the doctor’s office or a hospital so naturally, I had no exposure to medicine till my high school years except for being a fan of medical television such as Grey’s Anatomy and House. During this time, I became privy to a different side of medicine and health care. Shadowing doctors and volunteering in a hospital, I was fascinated by the unique language that separated the hospital from the world outside.

Over the years, a woman named Florence Nightindale created nursing to be a lifetime profession. In result she established her own nursing school Nightingale Training School at St. Thomas ' Hospital which opened on July 9 1860 she began writing her own curriculums. Nightindale was known to be one of the most courageous women because of her service in the Crimean War, she trained the women who also volunteered.

Ever since grade school, I was passionate about working in the field of medicine, and science. I enjoyed anatomy, medical spelling and terminology, and reading about the healthcare industry. Because of my passion for healthcare, I decided to to attend Health Sciences High. There, I was given the best opportunities, such as, medical internships and college health courses. My plans and goals had turned me into a mature young adult.

Anesthetist assistants are very important in the medical field, without nurse anesthetist some medical procedure could not be made to save a life. Anesthetist assistant have it hard just like any other medical career. The career path towards becoming an anesthetist is a four-year journey, entailing a long period of training and patience. At present, I am on track for graduation, I do still have some credits missing, but by the end on graduation, I would have achieved them all. Therefore, my next step is to apply to Valencia College and take the courses required to achieve my goal of becoming an anesthetist assistant.

In modern medicine an alarming trend is emerging, many patients and the public are developing a negative association with health care practitioners for their lack of compassion. Unfortunately, there is truth behind these claims. Now the question is why? Why do patients feel like a chart, instead of a person? No one suffers the rigors of medical school because they don’t care for people.

Yet, a universal health care program creates a shortage of physicians. In America’s system, doctors’ salaries depend upon the difficulty and demand of their specialties and patient satisfaction. Other systems “pay all subspecialists on the same salary scale” at a government-mandated rate (Light 29). The diversity of each medical specialty and the unique challenges each pertain is a factor that drives students to the medical field. If a neurosurgeon is paid the same as a family practitioner, less people are likely to undergo the difficulties of becoming a neurosurgeon.

Before we even know what to do with patients we need to understand physiology viruses, infections, etc., in order to treat them accordingly. There are not enough of the understated groups involved in learning about the aliments that target our people, it is left to people who are not impacted as much which makes no sense because there could be something in our culture that could be the key ingredient to treating the aliment. A simple practice like the way womb is dressed could be a break in medical engineering but there isn’t a heavy presence of underrepresented groups and people don’t realize that a lot of this.
