In chapter eight of Night, Elie’s father, Shlomo, struggled with inhuman treatment more than once. He became ill and was unable to control where and when he relieved himself. Shlomo had gotten dysentery from drinking the polluted water. The other sick prisoners he was housing with were so displeased, they beat him. “Eliezer… Eliezer… tell them not to beat me… I haven’t done anything… Why are the beating me?”

For the last few months, we have been reading the book Night by Elie Wisel. Elie is s 15 year old boy who survived the tragic events of the holcaust during World War 2. In this book, 86 year old Elie tells his compelling story of hardship and strength as he goes through the death camps of burkenwald and Aushwitz. In this essay, I will tell you about Another survivor and her story. Her name is Hanna Szper and I will tell you about her life before, during, and after the holcaust.

World War II, the second war Hitler was vanquished in but different battles. WWII Hitler decided to kill off all Jewish people, he wanted to wipe out their whole existence. But from all of this destruction came forth a man who was to tell their story, a boy who lost everything to a man who wanted Jewish people dead. Elie Wiesel, was the boy that was there from the start of this war against genocide. Elie have consequently written the book “Night” which tells his tale of the war moreover his survival.

Through out Night, Eliezer and his father Shlomo go through many obstacles that bring them emotionally farther and closer away from each other. In the book, written by Elie Weisel, he talks about his experiences as a young Jew in a Nazi run concentration camp. During this horrifying time, Elie talks about the sickening events that happen and how they affect the relationship with his farther. In the beginning, Elie and his farther have much respect for each other and by the end of the book, the relationship turned into an emotionless feeling of guilt and burden. The concentration camp took a great toll on their relationship.

The people of Transylvania were receiving many signs that the Holocaust was coming. It was just the beginning and after being taken away, their lives were forever changed. They chose not to believe it and ended up going through it all. Moishe the Beadle also explains what is going to occur and what happened to him and little by little, edicts were placed upon them. Once they were sent to the ghettos, there was no way to escape.

Throughout the book Elie Wiesel’s thoughts on God change. In the time when the book was taking place, Jews were seen as nothing and were treated terribly. For example in this Graphic Memoir Elie uses her knowledge to compare Jews to beaten dogs. With all this happening, Elie turned to one person he trusted to help him and his family get out of this disastrous situation. Elie was sent to constant concentration camps because she was Jewish.

In The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern, the narrator contrasts an ominous and dark-looking circus with an inviting and bright one by creating a new reality to convey that things are not always as they seem. The unusual circus is eerie and creates a feeling of uncertainty as to what is behind the tents. When the circus arrived in town, nothing previously mentioned its arrival as, “No announcements precede it, no paper notices on downtown posts and billboards, no mentions or advertisements in local newspapers'' (p.10). The lack of information posted anywhere leads to a mystery as to why the circus is there, leaving the citizens to become curious and confused.

Imagine losing; house, job, friends, family, faith, and humanity what if you lost everything just because of beliefs? Forced in a cattle car like an animal without knowing the destanation Never. Lifelessness and fear was forever felt watching innocent people get murdered. Dutch was just a child, Eliezer witnessed him hanging suffering dying a slow death.

If one is in a situation where speaking up against an injustice would result in being killed, what should they do? This theme is apparent in both the graphic novel Maus and the memoir Night as they focus on life during the holocaust for Jews. Maus by Art Spiegelman is the story of Art’s father Vladek and his experiences leading up to his capture and placement into the concentration camps. Night is a personal memoir by Elie Wiesel. The memoir guides the reader through Elie and his father’s experiences at concentration camps.

Celia Bowen is one of the protagonists and involved in every major part of The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. We meet Celia very early on when we learn she is the daughter of Hector Bowen, better known by his stage name Prospero the Enchanter. Prospero was the best illusionist until he faked his death. Celia played an impactful role in both the plot and influencing the themes of this story. Celia portrayed an impactful role in plot multiple times throughout this book.

Night by Elie Wiesel is a book about the Jewish concentration camps, and the inmates within them. The book takes place in the 1940s, (World War II time) in a concentration camp called Buchenwald. Towards the beginning of the book, Eliezer, a Jewish teenager, is forced to ride in a cattle cart with people going insane on the train ride. “Fire! I see a fire!

In class we are working with a book call Night, by Elie Wiesel. This book is about a young man call Elie and his family that live in Transylvania that has a lot of trouble all around the book because like he is jews they send him and his family to a concentration camp and he is waiting for a miracle of god to save him but like he doesn't see nothing happening he is starting do get mad and stop believing in him, this book is basically about how world war I started because germans(nazis) thought jews were different people. Over the course of the book, Elie changes from a person who believes in god to a person who only thinks about food. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to the fact that because of everything he is going though and he thinks that god will stop it or will help him but like he sees nothing is

There is nothing more powerful than love and in Erin Morgenstern’s fantasy novel, The Night Circus, this theme is exemplified. Love can overcome even the most powerful obstacles and barriers. Love has no boundaries, love will prevail all else, and love will save all. Morgenstern encompasses this by building powerful relationships between the characters to demonstrate mysteriousness and sacrifice. Celia sacrifices the match for love, for Marco.
