The strategic purpose of school governors is to support the school in many ways. This includes, making sure there is a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction within the school. They support the head teacher and hold them accountable for the educational performance of the school and its pupils. They will oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is spent in the right areas. They will also carry out a number of other significant duties, which include the appointing and dismissing of staff, hearing appeals and grievances, forming policy on the school's curriculum, setting standards for pupils' behaviour and discipline and setting and monitoring the school's aims and policies.

The mission is more about what the school can achieve academically and physically which is often set out by the head teacher. This is often set out as a short and meaningful motto such as; believe and you will achieve, achieve and you will succeed. The ethos of the school is more about feelings and beliefs and a sense of pride for the school and the feeling of a caring environment that adopts cooperation and respect. This is set out for the whole school to be aware of and is reinforced on a daily basis this is done by staff through activities. It enforces that childrenâ€TMs safety is paramount and that children are the center of everything.

Although there are some students that associate the school with happiness, there are certainly a greater amount that don’t, being the reason that many students were damagingly abused and will be scared for a long duration of their life. The meals that were provided by the school were in small quantity and disgusting, the clothes often did not provide the children with proper protection in the winter and were rarely well fitting. It is vital that children and young people are equipped with the right information and are empowered to make informed choices about the way they choose to behave. This is especially true when it comes to personal safety, and the safety of others as part of negotiating and developing personal relationships. With this in mind, education within the school environment plays a significant role in assisting children and young people to develop these skills.
Legislation is put in place to ensure that schools operate fairly and lawfully. Schools have rules and guidelines that they have to follow to ensure children and staff are kept safe in the working and learning environment. Children need to be protected from abuse and abusive material. Legislations are set in place to protect them and strict rules need to be followed. Security checks are done on all staff members working with children.
Safeguarding is the action that taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. The Children 's Act of 1998 put procedures in place that mean local authorities, courts, parents and other agencies in the United Kingdom have been given specific duties to ensure children are safeguarded and their welfare is promoted. The UK has policies and laws around education, health and social welfare which cover most aspects of safeguarding and child protection. The ethos of the school should be felt in the atmosphere of the school environment as it is part of daily practise and activites planned by the teachers. Schools and organisations must have a safeguarding policy which is reviewed and updated regularly. This is so that staff are aware on what to do is they think a child needs protection. Child protection within the family environment Providing a child with a safe and healthy family environment is very important for their well-being and is seen as child protection in the sense what if the parents cannot look after the child, feed them, clothe them and keep them safe from harm within the house then this is a danger to the child’s life.
Schools must make the school environment one in which young people can learn and students are safe. School officials need to be enabled to enforce discipline and the upholding of the schools rules. The foundation of my theology and philosophy of youth ministry has been majorly molded by my home church, which is a very traditional Southern Baptist Church. There are many aspects that I would change which is what will be outlined in this paper. The two main aspects I would reprioritize are; how parents influence the ministry and how discipleship is approached. During the course of this paper, I will cover my philosophy of youth ministry by developing a mission statement, then developing a purpose based off the mission statement, followed by using the purpose and mission statement to develop a vision for youth ministry and finally developing a strategy to put the above theology into a practical application. The importance of school is taken to consideration as it helps you to meet the grades that you need to go further in life, and the skills/knowledge that can be accomplished and improved. School opens up a lot of opportunities for young people because it is the one place where they go to get new life skills and experience. School is somewhere where young people are able to practice their techniques/learning and form social bonds with other students. School is not just for learning but also for young people to help from in a way that they can also build their social skills and attributes when interacting with other students.
Our school aims to comply with the Education Department’s Health and Safety policy. The objective is to minimise accident and sickness absence rates and to promote the well being of staff and pupils by developing a positive attitude to Health and Safety. In doing so the school will also comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) and all other relevant legislation. The school accepts that involvement, co-operation and effective communication of all employees on both an individual and collective basis is crucial to the accomplishment of the schools’ Health and Safety aims.
The purpose of education is to create the “catalyst”, - the interest, the imagination, the self-confidence, the enthusiasm for further knowledge that helps a person grow beyond what they believe they can be. Education should help develop skills and knowledge, so students can be productive members of society. The more knowledge you have, the more opportunities you have in life. I think back to my childhood and the teachers that made an impact in my life. I want to be that catalyst for students.
