Katniss Everdeen is a 16 year old tribute from district 12. Katniss 's father had died in the mines when Katniss was 11 so she had to take care of her sister Prim, herself, and her mother. Luckily Katniss 's father taught her to hunt making her well trained to help her family survive. During the reaping, Katniss 's sister Prim, got selected as tribute so Katniss bravely volunteered to take her sister 's place.
When the time comes to pick who will fight in the Hunger Games, Katniss’ sister, Prim, gets picked. Katniss runs to her and screams that she volunteers to take her place. For the boy tribute, Peeta Mellark is chosen. Katniss remembers how years earlier, while searching for food for her family in the garbage bins behind the town shops, Peeta gave her bread from his family’s bakery. The tributes, Katniss and Peeta, say good-bye to everyone and board a train to the Capitol.
When the answer says that 2 tributes can go home Katniss has to find Peeta. Peeta at the time was badly injured and on the verge of death. If Peeta would have not run and hidden and would have let Cato kill him then Katniss would have probably fallen into a deeper depression because rue died already and would feel bad because he would have died saving
For most, not being killed by twenty-three other teens in the vicious Hunger Games would be a good thing, right? Not for Katniss Everdeen, who miraculously won the 74th annual Hunger Games alongside her so-called star-crossed lover, Peeta Mellark. The Hunger Games is an annual event of the taking of twenty-four teens from the twelve districts that kill each other until there is one victor. In the second book, Catching Fire, Katniss and Peeta have to travel the districts on the Victory tour to greet the families of the lost tributes. For them, it’s just another thing to remind them of the horror and tragedy of the games.
Peeta is there for Katniss as they both experience the truth about how their society and why in fact they fight in these separate districts that are designed to hold different personalities of certain people. This is another example of how society tries to control people in these dystopian novels. However, this specific relationship is similar to that of Montag and Clarisse because Peeta had such an influence on Katniss and how she made the decisions she did throughout the book series. Katniss once thought about Peeta during the series and realized, "only one person will be damaged beyond repair if
“Hero’s are made by the path they choose, not the power they are graced with.” - Brodi Ashton. Katniss Everdeen is the protagonist of this novel, who has to obey society’s unfair rules. Katniss chooses volunteers for her sister Primrose at the district 12 reaping to participate in a yearly event called The Hunger Games. She is forced to fight against the other tributes chosen from the other districts.
"I volunteer" I gasp. "I volunteer as tribute!" (Collins 22). Katniss has a very strong sense of protection for her mother and sister, and due to this necessity to protect them, she eagerly volunteers to take Prim's place in the games. Katniss overcomes her fear of what challenges the games may present, ultimately displaying her love and sacrificing nature as demonstrated by her
She starts off as a well-respected female in her district despite the fact she’s poor. Her hamartia of caring too much about other’s survival leads her to her downfall where she volunteers to risk her life in the Panem Games for her sister during the Reaping. Again relating back to Aristotle, her downfall has a great impact on her family because they will struggle in privation alone without Katniss to help. Even throughout the game, Katniss relentlessly sacrifices her own safety to ensure that Peeta was safe. When Peeta gets a serious wound from a sword stab, Katniss’s tragic flaw forces her to go out of hiding and obtain medicine, leading her to her downfall of almost getting killed by another
After the riot, Snow is found dead. Katniss is eventually cleared of Coin's murder by reason of insanity, and she is relocated to the ruins of her home in District 12.Months later, Peeta and some other District 12 natives also return there. Peeta has gradually recovered the memories of his love for Katniss. Katniss embraces her love for Peeta, recognizing her need for his hope and strength. Together, they write a book in order to preserve the memory of those who died.
Peeta Mellark, one of the main characters in the book The Hunger Games, once said, “ My nightmares are usually about losing you. But I am okay once I realise your here.” The novelis about two teens from each district in the country Panem being selected to be in the Hunger Games, a reality TV show that requires them to fight to the death. Over the course of the novel, the two main characters, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, develop romantic feelings for each other.
The dystopian novel The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins features various dystopian elements that evolve throughout the story. Actually, Katniss is not chosen as tribute but she sacrifices herself as a tribute to replace her sister Prim. The plot also explains love triangle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale. Katniss as a central role in this movie looks strong and convincing with a bow and arrow. The analysis of the hunger games will be explain with Marxist theory because this movie related with marxism issue which is social class between capitol and twelve district.
