If I find him, the general smiled, he loses” (Connell 5). In this section of the story, Zaroff is explaining the rules of the game to Rainsford. When Zaroff says “If I find him…..he loses,” you can highly infer by this that when he says “loses” he means they die, so he’s practically saying that is Rainsford loses, he dies. Typically, when one knows they are going to die, they do what they can to save themselves, which is what Rainsford did. Since Zaroff is hunting humans, one of them is most likely to die. Murder can not go unpunished. Rainsford would most likely have died if he didn’t kill Zaroff. Some may say that one should never kill no matter what. Well, if Rainsford himself never killed Zaroff, he would have died. He was defending himself by killing Zaroff. It is highly understood that one should not kill but what would you do if someone was hunting you and trying to kill you? Would you let them or would you kill them to save

In The Most Dangerous Game, Richard Connell suggests that the hunter is not that different from the hunted when the big game hunter Rainsford becomes general Zaroff’s prey. Rainsford believes that hunting is a game because he doesn’t value the lives of the animals he hunts. When conversing with his hunting companion Whitney, Rainsford presents his view of the subject by stating that, ”You’re a big-game hunter, not a philosopher. Who cares how a jaguar feels?”(92). Contradicting his superior’s opinion, Whitney suggests that “they understand one thing—fear. The fear of pain and the fear of death.
Rainsford’s only way to do this is to not only get through Zaroff’s traps but to defeat him. The only option Rainsford has is to kill Zaroff which means he has to put his new beliefs aside on how hunting men is wrong, Rainsford says, “Hunting? Good God, General

What if one could combine education of these difficult topics with the allure of a kid friendly game? Brenda Romero did just that. In her Ted Talk, “Gaming for Understanding,” Romero mentions that she has been making all sorts of games since she was fifteen.
