Jackie Robinson has impacted many young baseball players today. He had to of had so much courage to be the first African American MLB player in history. To be able to just ignore every bad thing that was said to him, and keep playing aggressively. I think that from him doing that, it gave other African American players the guts to want to be in the MLB or any ordinary team in general. Some kids are nervous about going to their first practice or game, but I think that since Jackie Robinson was the first African American MLB player, it helped some kids to not be as nervous.

42 is a story about Jackie Robinson, the renowned baseball player who broke the colour barrier by becoming the first African-American to join the roster of the Brooklyn Dodgers (“42”). It portrays the struggles, mainly racism, Robinson had to go through while he was in the baseball team and how he managed to overcome them. The world is a constantly judgmental place. This can be seen through the segregation of the Blacks and Whites, media being dominated by the majority and racism against the Blacks.

In real life, Jackie Robinson was eventually inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and his jersey number 42 was retired by Major League Baseball in honor of Jackie. Section 1 Conflict Theory is the most obvious theory that is portrayed in the movie. Conflict Theory, as defined during lectures about Chapter 1, is a theory that groups compete for resources, power, and authority. Karl Marx is considered the founding father of the Conflict Theory.

Jackie Robinson is known to be one of the most influential people in baseball and in society. He eternally changed the aspect of American history. It was unusual to have a colored person be treated equally as a white person during the time of the 1900s. He was born in Cairo, Georgia in 1919 and later moved to Pasadena, California to pursue a better life. He came from a poor family of sharecroppers in the South and was the youngest of five.

October 23, 1945, Jackie Robinson shook hands with Branch Rickey, officially changing baseball and society, signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Robinson grew up in a poor household in Pasadena, California. He attended UCLA, making himself a four sport star athlete . Major league baseball had been segregated at the time, with the only black men playing in separate Negro Leagues. Branch Rickey, the owner of the Dodgers, wanted to break the color barrier.

While fighting for equal rights Robinson also kept his spirits up. Many of Robinsons credit Jackie with being the light of the team. His teammates say that Jackie Robinson Was a big reason that they put so much time, work and heart into the game, they say that Robinson was what they turned to so that they could keep going. The Dodgers won six pennants with Robinson on their team and Pee Wee Reese, Robinson 's “best friend” said Jackie was a big part of that. This quote explains his first appearance in the MLB as an African American. Jackie Robinson had his mind set on his goal. He did not give up because he was different. Although he encountered many hardships, he continued to try his hardest and eventually joined the Brooklyn Dodgers. This fits in with what I know because people today are still bashed for their race.

During the 1900s, people of color were not able to play in the MLB with white people due to segregation. With the making of their own league, known as the Negro Leagues, people of color were able to play the game they love as well as now turning the face of baseball with allowing anybody of a different race into the MLB. With a couple of players going into the MLB, during this time despite the conflict, which had made an impact as they progressed of allowing people of color into the Major Leagues and into sports today. Segregation during this time prevented people of color to play with other races as the diversity of conflict to be able to play their sport as well as the people of color, mainly African-Americans, came to a compromise where

Jackie Robinson was a game changer for all sports. He broke barriers in baseball allowing African Americans to play baseball. Jackie was hated at first but he didn't say anything and let his playing do the talking. Jackie didn't only change baseball he helped his community and the Civil Rights movement.

Without a specific character defined as an antagonist, Jackie Robinson instead faces off against a much broader concept – the popular mindset of the time.

Created in 1839, baseball has become a very popular sport. Over its 178 years of cheering and enjoyment, there has been man trials and errors. One problem in this game was segregation. Segregation originates all the way back to 1619 when slavery started. At this time, many whites showed much hatred against blacks and they were separated.
