The NFL is known for all the entertainment. Hard hits and something to watch is the game. Does anyone really care what happens to the players’ off the field? Ray Lewis is a well-known player but people do not realize what his story off the field. How he got to where he is today is a mystery to some people. Of course hard work, dedication, and motivation was what he put in to be were he was. Ray said, “Sweat was necessary.” He was determined to be the best he could be and better than anyone. Also he said, “I am the best player to play for Miami.” He did not say it to be cocky; he meant it because he has worked harder than any other player, put more effort into the weight room, played harder on the field. Ray Lewis was one of the best NFL players ever. He was six foot one and weighs …show more content…
He killed two people in Atlanta as self-defense. Ray came out and told everyone that he killed the two people even though he pleaded guilty of all of his charges so the NFL fined him $250,000 for the murder (“Baltimore’s Ray Lewis tackles murder charges and climbs back to the top a year later”). Ray took time out of the Super Bowl celebration to pray for the people that he killed he said, “The man upstairs, he does not put you through the tragedy without bringing the crown, if you are chasing his heart” (“Ray Lewis Shines as Baltimore Ravens Claim 34-7 Victory Over the New York Giants Super Bowl XXXV”). That was a lot of money to be fined as a football player in the late 1900s. People thought he would never be as good again (“Baltimore’s Ray Lewis tackles murder changes and climbs back to the top a year later”). They thought but they thought wrong. When the next year came, the year after the killing, it was his best year of football he has ever played when everyone thought he would never be good
“It taught me the meaning of hard work” as Jerry rice said. Jerry rice found that out because he was grateful because his dad worked hard. Jerry rice was born October 13 1962. He played 20 seasons in the NFL. Jerry rice is a positive influence on me because he worked hard on doing what he loved doing.
Fighting a lot only made him stronger and capable of more things. Today he still holds the fastest 40 yard dash time in NFL history. With many more accomplishments, Bo had significant strength and courage during his entire career.

Brock Milius Mrs. Baker English December 9, 2014 Tom Brady “Every quarterback can throw a ball; every running back can run; every receiver is fast; but that mental toughness that you talk about translates into competitiveness.” The lines I just read were first said by the greatest quarterback of all time, Tom Brady. Tom Brady Takes on Deflategate For the past several months, Tom Brady has been the highlight of sports news. The event I am referring to happened last year in the football playoffs and is still causing controversy today. This event happened in the playoff game between the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts, where the Patriots won with a score of 45 to 7. According to many people, controversy arose the night after the game over the footballs the Patriots used. Many people believe the footballs were slightly deflated during the first quarter of the game.
I A. Walter Camp is know as the father of football (Miller 4). The idea of football came from rugby and soccer (Buckley 6). Walter changed the rules of rugby and soccer so they would be fit for football (Miller 4). Walter wanted to have 11 players from each team on the field at one time instead of 15 players (Madden 7). He invented the line of scrimmage, and and that only one team had possession of the ball at a time (MIller 4).
It takes a lot of work to have the smarts and throw a football knowing you could be knocked out by a 300-pound grown man coming full speed at you. Either way, he still gets the perfect spiral right into the hands of a receiver. These are the words of Patriots defensive lineman teammate Chris Long " He's the king of the petting zoo. There are other GOATs and other farm animals, but he's like the biggest GOAT.
Richard Sherman grew up on the streets of Compton, California riddled with crime, drugs and gangs. He fortunately escaped this life by excelling academically in the classroom and athletically on the football field. After graduating in three years from Stanford University, he was drafted in 2011 by the Seattle Seahawks. Not content with being a NFL All-Pro, Sherman helped create a vision within his community by stating that there are better options outside of being in a gang with associated criminal behavior. Richard Sherman, after being inspired by his own role model, subsequently used his football fame to create a foundation that supports and motivates young inner city youth to overcome obstacles.
Although Charles Manson never actually committed any murders, this infamous cult leader was convicted of first degree murder for directing the murders committed by his followers known as the “Manson Family”. He was sentenced to death but since California invalidated death sentences that were handed down before 1972; this was commuted to a life sentence. Manson has spent a lot of his time while incarcerated creating art. If you were not aware that some the pictures had been created by him you would probably not find them disturbing but knowing the background of the artist does lend a certain macabre tone. Most are simplistic pieces created with pencil, crayons and water colors and depict shapes (such as stars and circles), masks, devils and

I chose the book Next Man Up by John Feinstein, because it is a book about football. This book is a journey into the secret world of the NFL. The author, John Feinstein, spins a year chronically the Baltimore Ravens football team. Usually, NFL teams do not let anyone into their secret world. They seem to be paranoid that there plays, play calling, and strategies will be stolen.
Ray Lewis was leaving a Super Bowl party in 2000 when 2 men were stabbed to death. The murder charges against Ray were dropped. As a boy and the eventual older brother to four younger siblings ,Ray quickly became the man of the house.
