America was born on July 4, 1976, during the revolutionary war with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. John Hancock was the first of fifty-six members to sign it. His signature is probably the most famous signature in the world. John Hancock is most known for his signature on the Declaration of Independence but, he did much more than just that. During the American Revolution, John Hancock helped lead and aid the colonists with the weapons and other things they needed.

The Speech in the Virginia Convention by Patrick Henry and the Speech in the Convention by Benjamin Franklin both have similarities and differences but they are both about the views on compromise and when to stand firm. Patrick Henry had a better standpoint then Benjamin Franklin did in their speeches. Patrick Henry’s speech had a stronger point of view than Benjamin Franklin The difference between these speeches is that Patrick Henry implores his countrymen to declare war against the British he wanted to fire up the representatives at the convection in VA.

The American identity has evolved over time. During the 1700’s, the Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, occurred. It spread rapidly across Europe, and then to North America. This revolutionary way of thinking was crucial to the development of the American identity. The Enlightenment was the period for cultivation of science and human reason.

In the Revolutionary War had many famous colonists, on of them was Ben Feranklin, He began  as a printer, became a publisher, and wrote books. But thats not why he was known for, As a scientest, he is known for his expiriments with electricity, and he was the oldest figure in the American Revolution. Franklin earned the tital of "the first american" for his early and idefatigable campaining for colonial unity.                 At a young age ben wat the first to submit a newspaper in all of Boston.

When the time of the Revolution came about, Benjamin was an avid supporter and was active in the Sons of Liberty. He was elected to the provincial conference, which was to elect delegates to send to Congress. While there, Thomas Paine consulted Benjamin for advice on a pamphlet he was writing, that became his famous book, Common Sense. While he was attending in the Continental Congress, he was also serving on the Medical Committee there.

The Revolutionary Figure that I picked for my essay is Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin was born January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the tenth son of seventeen of a man who made soap and candles. In his early life at the age of twelve he became an apprentice to his brother who was a printer.

Following Thomas Jefferson’s enlightenment ideals, in 1776, the United States of America achieved their newly found independence and were left to now be their own country. This new republic, to be built to run differently from tyrannical Britain, would form a democratic-republic. This new form of government would create compromise as it would maintain its democratic nature from deriving the power to be governed from the consent of the people and uphold republican virtues with Americans electing their government officials. Yet, this utopia of freedom would not maintain its success nor become created without the bold action of risk-taking. Similarly, great leaders in early America would also take risks when developing their skill sets and following.

Benjamin Franklin was one of the largest known founding fathers of the United States. He was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents were Josiah Franklin and Abiah Folger. He was the fifteenth child of Josiah and one of ten by Abiah(Franklin Born). His father wanted him to be a clergy but could not afford to send him to school for that many years.

So how was a major figure in the American Revolution? Well, in the events that led to the Revolution he took a major stance, most famously in his criticism of George III after the Stamp Act got approved.   He opposed the prices forced by the Townshend Acts and the British attempt to collect them by using the Royal Navy

Born in 1706 as the eighth of 17 children to a Massachusetts soap and candlestick maker, the chances Benjamin Franklin would go on to become a gentleman, scholar, scientist, statesman, musician, author, publisher and all-around general genius were astronomically low, yet he did just that. Franklin wrote in the Age of Enlightenment, an intellectual revolution in the 18th century. The ideals of the enlightenment are still thought of today, as they are a part of the United States’ Declaration of Independence and Constitution. When one remembers Benjamin Franklin very few people are aware of the fact that he worked as a printer until the age of 42. As a printer he had access to substantial amounts of literature.

The importance of Ben Franklin has been told all throughout history, along with the famous $100 bill with his face on it. Drafting the Declaration of Independence, foudning universities and libraries, the post office, shaping policies in the U.S., publishing newspapers, making advances in science, and letting us use bifocals and using lighting for electricity. Even if this man never finished school, he did much reading and experiments that help us out today.
