The Unabombers Resolve and Outcomes The U.S postal system has been around since 1775, and it seems to be an effective and fast way to deliver packages and mail nationwide. People never think about opening their mail because they assume that it is safe to open and we seem to open it mindlessly and without thought. Yet in 1978, Theodore Kaczynski changed this, because of his education and his belief that technology would ruin the world, committed one of the most heinous acts of terror in history and he used the postal system to do it.
Historical Context and Life Before the Tragedy In 1958, Kaczynski was accepted into Harvard University for the study of mathematics at the age of 16. Alston Chase when talking about Ted Kaczynski Stated, “Kaczynski, we learned, was a Harvard graduate and former University of California mathematics professor who gave up his teaching career in 1969 to live a hermetic life in Montana”(1). While he was there he took place in a study that was run by professor Henry A. Murray. This study was meant to find out how language would affect the human mind. The study forced Kaczynski to receive a lot of verbal and mental abuse. This experiment contributed to Ted Kaczynski's violent actions that he would

Going to school at Harvard during the Vietnam War also helped form some of his values and beliefs that industrialized society will be the human race’s downfall. In the end it was his own writing style that brought him down. The Unabomber events are considered an American Crime/Tragedie because what he did was unrighteous, unthinkable, and devastating to the American people. He caused fear, death, and destruction just to get his point of view across. What he did is still talked about today because it is a lesson to learn from, and what he did was unforgivable and
He said he wanted to “make the attack a platform for his anti-government message”. It all started in the morning at 9:02 a.m. on April 19,1995. At this time people where coming in to work. Meanwhile on the second floor, children were arriving at the day care center. At exactly 9:02 a.m. the explosion occurred.

Not only will the some of the attacks themselves will be covered but Ted’s life leading up to the campaign will be analyzed also.
Since The federal government initiated The United States Postal/ Service (USPS) over two centuries ago, it has contributed billions of dollars into the American economy. For one they provided accessibility to communicate to Americans on the other side of the country. High demands cause for a boom in technological and transportation advancements. Business remained stable until the rise of the internet and the eventual introduction of electronic mail (e-mail) . As a result the USPS has been receding their market share against competitors.
Who Born in the early 1940’s, Theodore Kaczynski was considered an extremely smart young man. He finished high school early and entered college at the age of 16, he completed his master’s and Ph.D. by the age 25. After which, he was hired
Timothy Mcveigh was born in Lockport, New York on April 23, 1968. He graduated from U.S. Army Combat Engineer School, and is infamous for the Oklahoma City bombing. This man is responsible for the deaths of 168 people, including children that were in the building's daycare. He had filled a truck with explosives and drove into the building full speed before saving himself. 800 others were terribly injured.
So why did he trust President Obama with Earth’s future when so many of his cohorts are evil aliens? Well somehow, Obama escaped the massive breeding of humans that has occurred. One could go on and on about the ramblings of this man’s essay but why bother? He’s loony, or at least, he is pretending to be. Perhaps he’s smarter than we think.
Kaczynski believes that by pursuing the insanity plea people will think that he is insane and it will ruin everything he has ever worked for and will damage his reputation despite being the Unabomber. Finally, enraged, Kaczynski decides to take his lawyers off the case to plead guilty in order to not pursue the insanity plea in hopes to not look insane to the general public. Similarly to his actions proving his hubris, an article states that “Hubris can cause short-sighted, irrational, or harmful behavior since the person does not stop to examine their behavior or consider the opinions of or effects on others when behaving.” (Adam, 2022) By taking off his lawyers, his hubris is shown in which there are also many consequences he faces due to his irrational and prideful behavior.
so influential is his large repertoire of writing. Kurt wasn’t always a writer, according to family they all thought he’d be a “Jailbird” or in lifelong service to the military. They were wrong, on February 11, 1950 his first published written work titled “Report on The Barnhouse Effect” was published in Collier’s Weekly (1888-1957, 2012-2012) and had very little feedback instead of critics bashing it’s “non-structured style.” So it Goes. Vonnegut continued to write short stories while living in Gary, Indiana with his uncle who is characterized in his books Bagombo Snuff Box (1999)
Situational effects and personality come into conflict when discussing behavior. Personality is someone’s “usual pattern of behavior, feelings, and thoughts” (Twenge, 2017, p.20). It remains constant throughout different situations, but some situations can be stressful enough to make a person act out of character. The transition between a person’s normal personality and behavior to a more evil, sinister behavior fascinates a man named Philip Zimbardo, who conducted the infamous Zimbardo Prison Experiment, or Stanford Prison Experiment (SPE). Zimbardo is an American psychologist at Stanford University and the mastermind behind the 1971 Stanford Prison Experiment (The Story).
While arguably one of the defining psychological studies of the 20th Century, the research was not without flaws. Almost immediately the study became a subject for debate amongst psychologists who argued that the research was both ethically flawed and its lack of diversity meant it could not be generalized. Ethically, a significant critique of the experiment is that the participants actually believed they were administering serious harm to a real person, completely unaware that the learner was in fact acting. Although Milgram argued that the illusion was a necessary part of the experiment to study the participants’ reaction, they were exposed to a highly stressful situation. Many were visibly distraught throughout the duration of the test
Plus, in an interview, he mentioned the book burnings in China, Germany and Russia. The book was published eight years after the World War II, not really far from the time when book-burnings were an important part of the national socialism in Germany(Interesting Literature, 2013). In the interview, he also talked about the book burnings in the McCarthy era. In that period, 30,000 books which were written by communist sympathizers or contained pro communist themes, were banned and removed from the shelves of public libraries. He was widely upset with this and said, “Anything that touches the library, touches me(YouTube, 2011).”

Kaczynski is a criminal that sent bombs through the mail that killed three and injured many more (Johnson). He has been serving jail ever since he was convicted of his deadly actions. In February of 2009 investigators started to review the Tylenol murders once again because of the advancements in forensic technology (Savage). Upon the reopening of the case, a DNA sample of Kaczynski was requested by the FBI to find out if he fits a partial DNA profile found on a piece of evidence (Schmadeke et al.). Regardless, numerous people do not agree that Kaczynski is actually the one that committed this violence.
His experiment was all a hoax. The shock machine was fake. All he wanted was to know how many people would be obedient and how many would be defiant. Much to Milgram’s surprise sixty-five percent of people did what were told of them, and only thirty-five percent were
This experiment, in my personal opinion turned out to have some very impressive results. The results were that 90% of people would actually kill someone if told by an authority figure. 90% of people would actually shock someone with voltage that was said to be able to kill a human being. I
