THREE DAY ROAD
The two most vital characters in the novel “Three Day Road” by Joseph Boyden is the Xavier Bird and Elijah Weesageechack and they have several major differences and these differences has been told and tested throughout the whole novel that how Xavier was reserved and visceral while Elijah was self-assured and talkative. Xavier was nurtured by his Aunt Niska for the long span of his childhood, opposed to how Elijah was raised in Moose Factory by nuns at a residential school. This came up as the three key differences between them that are paramount to the story and the themes of the novel are; firstly, their respect for their Oji-Cree culture, secondly their respect and love for human life, and lastly their personalities.

The first and foremost considerable fact in Xavier’s life was respecting their oji-cree culture, however this wasn’t as much important for Elijah an the perfect example of Xavier 's respect toward their aboriginal culture can be clearly seen in following quote "All of them stare down at me. I look up, sitting cross-legged with one of the horses sprawled beside me, its head on my lap. I look like I’ve been painted red. The smell of blood is heavy. It covers the wooden walls, the floor, and the straw upon the floor. Elijah sees that one of my hands rests on the floor with my skinning knife in it. In the book Old School by Tobias Wolff there are examples of where Tobias is a not so innocent boy. He is often times a trouble-maker and very rowdy. However, there is a passage in the book the hints at otherwise. Deep down Tobias is more innocent than his antics lead on.

Throughout the story there are multiple different goals and tasks that were carried through with. Out of the many goals in the book the most distinguished objective is to kill whoever killed June’s brother, Metias, who died after Day, a criminal who has eluded government, stabbed him after robbing a hospital with plague cures. June is an investigator and now will try to put things right. She begins to carry out the task by passing the word around that “somebody” has many plague cures and wants to give them to him. Then he says, “ Meet him at midnight, tonight, at the ten-second place.”
Conflict: A group of teens that are invited to a 3 day party on an island, start going missing and then are found lifeless, all with different death scenarios. There is only one killer on the island and nobody knows who it is... Seventeen year old Molly has her gothic looks and vegan lifestyle that her foster parents are fed up with. After Molly is caught stealing a book from the library, she is sent to serve her community service at Vivian’s huge mansion helping the woman clean out her attic. As Molly and Vivian go through the boxes in Vivian’s attic they discover something more than some old junk; they discover their identities.
The novel, If Beale Street Could Talk, discusses Tish and Fonny, their will of love strong, now struggling through injustice, racism, and corruption. Fonny arrested and jailed, framed of rape, and Tish losing hope that she might not be able to be by his side one last time. Throughout history, the police system had racial problems with accusing crimes into innocent people which had no connection to the crime. In If Beale Street Could talk by James Baldwin, is corruption enough to break the will of love between Tish and Fonny. In the novel, If Beale Street Could Talk, James Baldwin writes, “We’re going to take you down, boy,: “for assault and battery”, this quote indicates, when Tish was getting harassed by a white man, Fonny came to save her,

The loss of humane beliefs impacts him in a negative way because he can’t differentiate between right and wrong. Three Day Road is a novel by Joseph Boyden, first published in 2005. The story is set from Niska’s teenage days in the early 1870s to the pre-WWI years, the war itself and the immediate post-war time. It takes place in Northern Ontario and on the battlefields of France and Belgium. We follow two parallel narratives, Niska’s and Xavier’s. They are both Cree Indians.
In the novel Night, Idek shows evil in every way. Idek beats on Eli’s father countless times once to try to get Eli’s gold crown from his mouth. When he wasn’t beating on one of the prisoners he was taking advantage of a young girl at the camp. We see no sign of family in Idek’s life but plenty of evil outbreaks. Even though Idek is also Jewish just like all the other members of the camps and he too treats the prisoners like the German officers would or even worse.
This passage explains love and emotional significance in the war . Although the small role of women in The things they carried ,it is an importance threw out the book. Females character’s Martha ,Mary Anne and Kathleen have all effects on the men. “Quitting leads to much less happiness in life than perseverance and hope.” (Page 117) -Salva Dut In Sudan the water is the hardest thing to get, imagine you going to walk 5 miles to get a 45lb water jug then put on your head and walk another 5 mile all the way back home but the water in jug is full of insects and bacteria that can make you sick or even death after while the natural water will dry up so you and your family have to move with it and you walk again for miles they hope to find water and they won’t get killed by humans or animals. Salva is changing this cycle of moving with the water by raising money for them but he could not have done it if he was not a water follower himself and his story shows how he has become a leader.

However, many of these traditions have been changed or even disappeared after the arrival of the European settlers. Forced introduction of European culture and values, Aboriginal community, indigenous land being deprived, and the imposition of a period of governance outside the pattern of the beginning of a cycle of social, physical and spiritual destruction. You can see the effects of today. Some of the effects include poverty, poor health, and drug abuse.
