Toddler Development
I. Questioning a cool breeze that whips across the face. Which inherits the mind to think, causing it to start its beginning of learning. Natural curiosity is guaranteed in the human mind; it defends our culture. But why do toddlers, think and question everything? Well, becoming new to this world toddler want to soak up everything and as much as possible. That is why in this phase, toddlers are called “little sponges”. But once this is profound, they grow into “little investigators”. On this journey, children tend to learn about emotions and psychology, then can enhance their emotions and characteristics. When toddlers hit age two they understand and observe certain behaviors. This stage is known as “terrible twos” because

Every toddler has their own pace, character, and control of emotions. Some parents may say that toddler development is the best stage in a child’s growth, while others may say it is the worst.
A. As any human being, the feeling of love is a necessity. Emotional needs are as important to the need for food and water.
1. If a child’s parents are arranging a divorce, most children will blame it on themselves and result to have an “acting out” behavior. It is most important to ensure the child that they have a sense of belonging and is reminded that they are loved
B. A main associate to having emotional tendencies, is from the contraction of the thyroid.
1. The thyroid represents emotions and emotional sears that can be visible throughout the body. The state of the thyroid affects the toddler’s state of being.
a. With a contracted thyroid, toddlers are typically stressed or are going through an emotional pain. This pain can be the death of a family member.
b. Most times when a toddler’s thyroid is tightened they tend to be quieter and more contained, because their voice is “hidden” or

However, to fully inherit the full task or action, a consistent repetition of the task must be performed by the toddler. III. “Well before infants begin to say words, they produce a variety of increasingly complex and speech like vocalizations.”, stated Californian Scientist, David Ertmer. As well said, some children have already received auditory and vocal assistance and effects. Therefore, toddlers with hearing loss, delay in vocal development.
A. Since it is a necessity to include all human senses to learn, if one is absent it penetrates the rest. For example, if a problem occurs with auditory processing it causes the child’s learning hard to recall in which letters correspond to particular sounds.
1. As always auditory learning depends on the child and their capabilities.
B. Musical learning can help a large variety of children. The most penetrated learning experience in today’s preschools and daycares, are musically.
1. Providing and teaching obedience, vocabulary growth, rhythm, and more through just playing an instrument or simply beating a drum.
a. It has been proven that hearing music has 50% more brain usage than running.
b. As well as this, if a toddler watches a conductor and or plays an instrument, it provides 80% more brain usage than
When children can start to communicate what they want and need and able to tell you how they are feeling, they have a feeling of accomplishment. This helps toddlers identify emotions. Lastly, it creates feelings of accomplishment. We see, as parents, that toddlers and babies are proud when they learn a new word or sign (aidenofthetower,

The diagnostic steps for thyroid nodules in children and adolescents are not different from those in adults. A thyroid nodule can be discovered by a physician during a routine physical examination, discovered by patients themselves, or observed incidentally during imaging of the neck. However, the majority (75%) of pediatric patients with both benign and malignant nodules have asymptomatic neck masses 3. While some children with enlarged thyroid may present with symptoms of hypothyroidism which included bradycardia, fatigue, dry skin, decreased appetite, weight gain, hyperhidrosis, constipation, and tremors and cold intolerance, other may present with symptoms of hyperthyroidism which include tachycardia, weight loss with increased appetite, heat intolerance and increased sweating, diarrhea, and exophthalmia, some are
Studies have shown that learning how to read and play music, and even listening to music has an impact on the development of the brain. Music requires the use of both the left and right sides of the brain. After learning music I have noticed a change in the way I view music, my social skills and my thought processes. All of these things I believe are at least partially because of being in band and, they have all changed my life for the better After learning how to read and play music I noticed that I view, or should I say hear, music in a completely different way.
Another thing was that musical training can have an impact on the way that children behave; because behavior is caused by the mood that the child is feeling during that time. So, in the article, “Does playing a Musical Instrument make you smarter?”, a science correspondent states, “Brain circuits involved in musical improvisation are shaped by systematic training, leading to less reliance on working memory and more extensive connectivity within the brain”(Bergland). In addition, this shows that playing a musical instrument can cause the younger child to mature in the brain, so their
This theme addresses the question of whether or not children shape their own development. It is evident that the active child theme applies to the subject of infant cognitive development, as infants contribute to their development through the use of visual preferences and observation, interaction with the environment, and through the use of play. The bountiful research in the field of infant cognitive development serves as a confirmation that infants are not as inactive as they were once thought to be. Infants are the pioneers of their minds and they are able to gain a great deal of knowledge through their observation of the world
“There is always one moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in” (Greene, 1904-1991). Music is essential to every person’s life and seems to be involved in every activity of a child’s life from the moment they wake until they go to bed. Recent studies have shown that music (listening and playing instruments) have many impacts on children, especially in early stages of development of the child’s “body, brain, and their emotion foundations that support us for the rest of our lives” (Borgese, n.d.). There are also many other factors that affect child development like type/genre of music both violent and nonviolent that may contribute or hinder the future child’s behavior. Different music can have different effects on people, people don’t absorb the effect of music the same way.
As observed with Taylor, he could easily tell that someone new had come in his house and he did not respond to me the way he responded to his mother. Cognitive development during childhood plays a vital role in their future abilities and
Imagination can be developed when children are creating their own musical instruments as the child can discover the different sounds of different materials they use. Some children are appealed to music because of the variety of sounds the instruments can make. (Campbell et al, 2010). Music develops the artistic awareness, self-expression, self-growth, self-esteem and multicultural sensitivity which all forms part of the holistic development of the
Children differ in cognitive , social, physical and emotional development pattern. They may differ in response for the same objet or play or affection or people. Some always appear to be active and happy and other appear to be dull and unhappy. It is found that some children are easier to like. To help all kinds of children, it is required to understand the sequence of development pattern.
In this literature review, five articles will be reviewed, on the effects of music on child development in early childhood. Comparing research on children who have been exposed to music in early childhood, the effect of music on the development of the baby in the womb, and children who have not been exposed to music. While also making reference to research on how music therapy affects children with Autism and the effects of music therapy in the treatment of children with delayed speech development. The first article will examine the effects of Mozart 's music on child development.
Having the right knowledge, skills and experience in understanding how children or young people develop are very important tools for early years practitioners. We must put to mind that each child born to this world is unique; they are born with different characters and their personalities and behaviours are formed and influenced by variety of factors. These factors may affect their ways of interacting to the environment and community or setting in which they live in. In my experience as a child care practitioner most of the time, adults mainly focus on the physical development of a child and so quick to base their conclusion or judgement on the physical aspect.
When it comes to the development of children or in other words toddler, it is important to have an understanding as you see your child go through these changes physically and mentally. Even though there are general patterns to how children develop emotionally, socially, and physically, each child is unique and will develop in a special way. Individual differences can be very striking between the first and fourth birthday and are caused by the different experiences that each child has throughout their childhood. Having a stimulating environment for the child is very important, without this type of environment the child will never grow or learn. All experiences that a toddler goes through affecting their social and emotional growth.
As infants start to explore they become more curious about their
Some studies showed that people who listened to classical music performed worse in memory tests than those who didn’t” (See). We do know that some children and adults seem to be calmer and more engaged when music is incorporated into learning. People feel that this does impact the individual. Some people do not believe that arts in education are beneficial, but others feel that they are very monumental is
