Anyways, the story moves on to a character who holds an important role in this story and this character is Joey Gamble the star witness, the liar who had helped make the perfect frame in order to hang Donte on the wall of shame where he did not belong. Gamble was a pathetic man who ruined his football career with steroids built himself up to obesity and worked down at the supermarket and well had kids who didn’t want to see him and a wife who had divorced him. He was a loser in society’s world and what most losers do is drink away their lives and so he did just that. On this day the first day of this week a man came by his house. Knocked on the door and presented himself as a detective who had asked him to meet him for a drink. He accepted and later on they had a talk but it got nowhere as drunk as he has he never revealed a single detail about what happened so that the detective could pick up off his recorder nor did he accept to sign an affidavit stating he’d lied in …show more content…

Aristotle once said "A man doesn't become a hero until he can see the root of his own downfall.” In literature, a tragic hero is best defined as a character who makes a mistake which inevitably leads to their downfall. Moreover, a tragic hero is often depicted as conceited, arrogant, and someone whose fortune is reversed. In “Inherit the Wind”, the issue of Matthew Harrison Brady as a tragic hero is significant since he was expected to triumph against Drummond because he was a hero to everyone else.

Classic western films dominated the screen in the 1960s, with major productions such as The Good, The Bad and the Ugly (1966) and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) directed by Sergio Leone, The Magnificent Seven (1960) directed by John Sturges, and what is considered a well-known western produced in this area, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne and James Stewart as the main characters. While The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance meets all the criteria to classify it as a classic western, that being set in a culture structured around codes of honor and personal justice and gunslingers in every scene of the movie, the film lacks many characteristics to classify it as a well-rounded film. Many question the reasoning for the appearance of Ransom because not many know who Tom Doniphan was. With the local newspaper harassing him for answers as to who Tom Doniphan was, Ransom gives in and tells the tale through the use of flashbacks.
