The Vietnam War was a war that happened to last 20 years. The United States did not agree with the spread of communism so they sided with South Vietnam. The U.S happened to get involved due to wanting to stop the war because they didn’t want it to spread. It impacted the world due to it being the first war to become televised and people were upset because people were dying. Now, In my opinion the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson had the most significant role in The Vietnam War because when he assumed the presidency, he inherited the escalating crisis in Vietnam. Lyndon B Johnson failed to see the importance of the war, and actually escalated it even more. Despite promises

With so much injustice, movements began to break out everywhere. From schools to fields to the common workplace. All fighting for one thing: equality. Many movements actually got things accomplished. Not one group was able to get what they wanted alone, they had to fight their causes together to get about the similar ending they all desired. For example, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 came forth because of several movements like the Gay Rights Movement, Feminist Movement, and the Civil Rights Movement. These movements caused a lot of turbulence in the country because while one group thought we were moving forward, another group thought we were moving back. This caused chaos in the country, leading to backlash from our own government who should be for the people. Out of all the movements from the 1960s and 70s though, the Black Panther Party had the harshest response from the government. The Black Panther movement came up after the assassination of Malcolm X to fight against police brutality and defend the African American community in West Oakland, California. The party itself was quite unique in the sense that did a little bit of everything. From embracing their right to bare arms at city hall or creating programs to help their community they did it all. They were successful because besides fighting police brutality, which was their initial goal, they improved the community by launching more than 35 Survival Programs. The Black Panther Party created significant opportunities in their communities to help each other, from tuberculosis testing to the Free Breakfast for Children program that provided free breakfasts for students. This party was so successful in West Oakland, it spread to other major cities in the US. The groups in the US lead the example for other similar groups in different countries as well. Despite them only expressing their rights and trying to better their community, the US government saw
Identification and Evaluation of Sources: During the era of the Civil Rights Movement, many organizations were created in hopes of bringing peace and equality for all African Americans. These organizations diverged into two categories, violent and nonviolent. This investigation will focus on the radical organization known as the Black Panther Party. In late 1966, college students Bobby Seale and Huey Newton came together to create an organization that would fight against “imperialistic” America.
There were many devastating effects of the Vietnam War. When America entered the war, we lost thousands of soldiers. The massive United States bombing of North and South Vietnam left the country destroyed. The use of Agent Orange not only put Vietnam’s environment in danger, but it also caused many health problems for our own troops and other innocent people. In terms of the government, presidents were trying very hard to win the war but weren’t very successful.
Richard Nixon believed so highly in this plan of vietnamization that he was willing to give up his presidency for it. Hopefully for Nixon, “An Loc was the first chance to test it in a major battle. To the surprise of both sides, Vietnamization worked” (Fleming 1). Everyone was surprised when the south vietnamese army started to fight back without the help of the United states. The republic of South Vietnamese began to fight the North and won without america’s help.
The Vietnam war was the longest, considered one of the most important, and expensive war in our history. The United States became involved in Vietnam since we promised that we would fight against anyone who supports communism. American government thought this would be a short, uncomplicated war to win seeing that Vietnam is a third world country. As the war went on American citizens thought twice regarding our involvement in the war because of; billions of dollars were lost, our government was lying to us, and thousands of American lives were lost. America had robust intentions to try to stop communism from spreading to South Vietnam, however the outcomes of this war were too overpowering to call this war a success.
Introduction The Vietnam War was a Cold War-era military conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. In this war, one side was represented by the USA, who had the support of west European countries and other side was North Vietnam, , who was supported by USSR. The origins of the Vietnam War are rooted in centuries of resistance by the Vietnamese from foreign control.
The Vietnam War was similar to many other wars. Although the war didn’t have a formal start it went on the same. America has been involved in Vietnam for more than 25 years (“Comment”). “U.S involvement in Vietnam began with Eisenhower.” Vietnam split into North and South in the late 1950’s.

China, North Korea, and especially the Soviet Union provided logistical support to North Vietnam, but not actually involved in the conflict. In 1965, the United States sent troops to support the government of South Vietnam, which was shown unable to quell the insurgent movement of nationalist and communist, who had joined the Viet Cong (NLF).
The main idea of the causation of the Vietnam War has always revolved around the USA’s fear of the spread of communism. In short, the Vietnam War started as a result of US strategy of containment during the Cold War, which aimed to prevent the spread of communism throughout the world. The cold war was started in 1947 under the presidency of Harry S. Truman. His advisors told him that he needed to prevent Stalin’s efforts to undermine the US from proving fruitful. People were afraid of how Russian Communism might undermine the American Capitalism.
October 15th, 1966. This was a memorable one for the population of Oakland California. Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale came together in meeting, and founded the Black Panther Party (Originally the Black Panther Party For Self Defense). With communism on the rise, America is forced to contain communism to stop the domino effect of communism from taking over. With communism taking over the united states is forced to join the war in Vietnam. This war was one of many, but controversy strikes this one hard. The Vietnam War was controversial for a variety of reasons. While the Vietnam War was originally supported due to the containment of communism and the domino effect it sparked controversy due to the credibility gap and the united states army draft.
The Vietnam War was a battle between the United States of America and the mid-eastern country of Vietnam. What commenced the Vietnam War was Vietnam had to make a decision on what type of government they wanted to follow. They could choose between being a Communist government, which meant everyone contributed to society and no money was needed, or they could be Democratic, meaning the people of Vietnam would have to work to obtain money in which they could spend it on their personal needs. Vietnam ultimately chose to have a Communist government; however, the United States disapproved of this idea. Therefore, U.S.A. decides to send troops to Vietnam, fighting to get rid of Communism in Vietnam for a better future.
The Vietnam war was preceded by a very turbulent time in our history with problems here in the states such as racism, women’s rights, and a president being shot. But in Vietnam they were going through a civil war, which they had done before, but not to this extent, this time they got the U.S.S.R. involved. It was communist Russia and North Vietnam against South Vietnam. The U.S. started to get
The Vietnam War The Vietnam War was long, in fact, it never really ended as violence continued for another 15 years after the 20 years of war had already occurred. The war started due to an important history of nearly 150 years. The amount of battles that were in this war is too much to count. The war impacted millions of people killed millions of people, and divided millions of people.
The Vietnam War The war in Vietnam was the United States ' longest war and certainly one of the most contentious. The fighting between the United States and the government of South Vietnam on one side and North Vietnam and the Viet Cong (VC) on the other lasted from the mid-1950s until the mid-1970s and spread into Laos and Cambodia, the two other countries of Southeast Asia. The United States first became significantly involved in Vietnam in 1950, when it began supporting France monetarily in the latter 's effort to defend its colonial presence in Vietnam. Within the context of the Cold War, this assistance to France was extended as part of the effort to contain communism.
This case study addressed the concerns of a young man getting ready to register for the draft and his grandfather who had fought in the Vietnam War. There is an internal conflict for many Americans amid wanting to serve your country while also upholding your moral belief system. This case study helps us to examine the morality of war through a Christian perspective and the ethical conflicts of a draft. An important question is whether or not war is actually able to solve the root of our problems, and if it is worth the cost of human life. Personally, I have a difficult time accepting the violence associated with war and find the idea of a draft to be reprehensible.
