Martin comes to walk the boundaries of the farm that has been in his family for generations. It sounds easy especially because he’ll own the land when he gets back. Together, the family had planned to build a glass castle that contains all of the family’s hope and inspiration.

As Junior is an Indian, he almost expects that he will never leave the reservation, become an alcoholic, and live in poverty like the other Indians on the reservation—only if he sits around and does not endeavor to change his fate.
