Was Andrew Jackson A Good President

Jackson was a man of honor but was at times very cocky. He did many positive things to improve America, but his success was outweighed by his bad decisions as president. I do not think that Andrew Jackson should stay on our $20.00 bill. He was a general in the military.

The Jackson Presidency The seventh president of the United States was a man named Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson was a president that could be considered good or bad based on what he did during his terms. Although Andrew Jackson did good things during his presidency, he should be considered a bad president. Andrew Jackson should be considered a bad president because he forced the indians in Georgia to move, destroyed the national bank, and he bad tempered with a power hungry attitude.

In my essay I wrote about Andrew jackson and whether he was a good or bad president. And I decided to pick that he was a bad president here's why Now i will tell you about the best,worst,good and bad- Best - when he became major general because he won many battles for us and let us be free from the british. As commander and later major general of the Tennessee military, he maneuvered himself into important theaters during the War of 1812.

I agree Andrew Jackson 's presidency was during a perfect time.   Andrew Jackson was a very strong war hero and political leader during his time. His presidential race and terms changed several ideas in America about politics. He was a self-made man who faced many challenges during his early life but he was able to overcome and to become a successful man. I think these difficulties helped to shape his character and to contribute to his resilience to keep achieving.

Inmy opinion andrew jackson should be remembered as a great president. Kicking out native americans. Why? They helped the colonists when they first arrived so why do we decide to kick them out and take their land. Andrew jackson should have relized that without them he wouldnt even be president because there would not even be a country.

President Andrew Jackson was a hero to some but a villain to more. Andrew Jackson protected his fellow Americans well, but he ruined the lives of many Native Americans. President Andrew Jackson was a bad and horrible man to the NAtive Americans. President Jackson was a villain to the Native Americans. He created the Indian removal act that removed the Indians from their homes.

Andrew Jackson, a man with a hard soul and an unforgiving manner. He was tough, but did he go over the edge? Jackson definitely pushed his will has a president in a different, unwillingly fashion. Andrew Jackson's nickname is ¨Old Hickory¨ for a reason. He was stubborn, tough to work with, and non-compromising.

Jackson supported a strong national government and used his power to get what he wanted. He vetoed twelve times within his two terms as president. He was labeled “King Andrew the First” by some and he expanded the power of the president. His presidency was one

The last reason for why Andrew Jackson is a bad president is that he wanted to get rid of the National Bank. Jackson hated the Bank because he thought is was too powerful and only helped the rich.

Andrew Jackson was one of the greatest presidents who made very difficult decisions for our country. Although his choices were not always the popular decision, he made choices that were always promoting democracy. The things that make a good democracy are: giving people a say in government, having a good leader that you can trust to make wise decisions, peace and stability between each country and other states, and having equal power in the government (checks and balances). Andrew Jackson came into office with a popular vote and great support. His supporters viewed him as a man of the people.

However, he abused this position of power and made several choices that were detrimental to the welfare and rights of the American people. Jackson implemented the spoils system on a national scale and had unofficial members of his cabinet who did not have to answer to Congress. After South Carolinians were upset by the Tariff of 1832 he was angry toward those who did not agree with it. He also destroyed the National Bank and authorized the Specie Circular.

Vetoing is to allow or reject a decision or proposal made by a law-making body. The overall reason Jackson is known to be a tyrant is his abuse of power. The amount of vetoes he confirmed truly justifies the fact that he took advantage of his power. “The Second Bank of the United States was founded in 1816 and had a 20-year charter approved by congress that gave it the power to act exclusively as the federal government’s financial agent.” (Source 4)

Andrew Jackson was a tough man. He even went by the name of ‘Old Hickory’. Andrew Jackson was a terrible president, but also a good president. There are many reasons why Andrew Jackson was a bad president. These are only the few reasons that we all already know or they are major events stated in US history.

Andrew Jackson has been remembered as a ground breaking president, even being put on the $20. President Jackson was a controversial figure, doing many popular and unpopular things in his time. Although he is remembered as a hero from the war of 1812, he also caused the Trail of Tears and tried to destroy the National Bank. As a result, Jackson should not be put on the $20 bill. His actions have caused many misfortune showing that villains do exist.

Jackson was a common man who became a well known general after his amazing victory in New Orleans. Later on after the war Jackson ran for president, but lost because the election was rigged by Adams. When Adams became president nobody listened to him and only listened to Jackson.
