Steve Jobs once said,” The only way to do great work is to love what you do.” Welding is a great career to go into for many reasons. Welders work in a varied Industry such as construction, manufacturing, gas, and oil. Most welders attain a worthwhile salary and find comfort in a sustainable future. Welding is a big demand in the United States due to all of the welders retiring (Clark). The reason I want to get into welding is because it is a good career to go into. The benefits of being a welder is this world will always need welders; it is a very demanding job. Welding has inspired me because I enjoy welding and I am very good at it. I realized I wanted to be a welder when i was eleven years old when my Dad was teaching me. That's when I realized I had a passion to become a welder. The career of welding all started with people trying to find out ways to join two pieces together. The career began because people needed ways to join two pieces known as welding. Welding goes way back to the Bronze age by Egyptians and people of the eastern Mediterranean (“The History of Welding”). The career of welding has changed quite significantly since the Bronze age. In the 1920s they began making electric welding machines. Than, they made gas welding machines that allowed them to begin putting in pipelines and welding together ships. You can start to become a welder at the age of eighteen and it depends in what industry or employer a person is working for to have a retiring age. Welding does not require a person to be physically fit, but it is best if a person is because welders are always getting into tight spots and have to be able to weld in different positions (Clark).
