The Well Tuned Piano is a piece for solo piano and the entire duration of the work is 6 and a half hours. The music is composed of Just Intonation and is improvised by the composer La Monte Young. The composer also performs himself. During the song, the modern concert grand piano is played in just intonation pure toning. The sounds are completely controlled, and the composer exploits the constitution of pitch. In the beginning of the song, the low toned notes are played powerfully. The notes continue naturally and the flow is uniformity. The atmosphere of the work is entirely powerful and strong. The other hand, as the song is progressed, the flow loses momentum, and at 58:41, the atmosphere is changed into placidly mood. The chords and continuous chorus do not sound like piano performance. The listeners could be aware of the resonance of the piano. I could notice that the music reaches the end of the work. It begins very slowly and sad as through somebody is remember his life and remember a life and finally letting go. There are not many notes in the right hand.

As he went forward in the different songs, it began to sound more and more intricate each second. When he went to the second to last set of music, the songs created by Leo Brouwer, he first played in piano; however, after about a minute or two into playing, he started playing in presto and fortissimo. That sudden jump in dynamics and tempo startled me for a second. The resulting sound reminded me of what I hear in horror movies during a jump scare. After playing this set, the soloist stated that these songs by Leo Brouwer were used for a movie.
The introduction of the piece is the same as that of “The Raiders March”, but with strings playing in the background. The A melody begins with the trumpet as the strings fade out (0:07). The first minute and a half of the song is played the same as that of “The Raiders March”, though due to differing sound equalization, some parts stick out more or less than they do in the original. For example, in the third repetition of the A melody, one can more clearly hear the xylophone accompanying the melody here than in “The Raiders March”. During the duration of the 10 minutes I thought that the song was very similar the whole time. It was all fast paced and when all five guys seemed to play the song the same through. The only time it changed was when an instrument stopped or started playing. The instrument I noticed the least in this piece was the ----- because of its low sound and the other four instruments could be played with high pitches/sounds.
Instruments are introduced at the beginning of new sections, such as the pre-chorus and chorus. Dynamics each verse begins in mp and increases dynamically to mf at the pre-chorus; there is a slow crescendo to f during the transition from pre-chorus to chorus. Tempo the tempo of this song is moderato at approximately 116 bpm, however it feels much slower due to the emphasis being on the 2nd and 4th beats rather than on the 1st and 3rd.
The melody of this song described as restlessly chromatic and undulating, a swaying Arabic-sounding tune. The melodic line is filled with emotion and oddly unbalanced consisting of seven alternating sections of held tones and movement. I have chosen “ Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars and “ Rock Around The Clock” by Bill Haley as this assessment ‘s topic. Basic information of two songs will be mentioned first, then similarities, differences and connections will be discussed afterwards. First of all, Bruno Mars is a songwriter and popular singer who came from Hawaii, and he released “Uptown Funk” on 2014 , it won the Grammy award for Record of the Year. It is a pop, funk boogie with Minneapolis song. “ Uptown Funk” is talking about how a guy looking good , wearing jewelry and branded shoes , talking about how hot the singer is and how rich he is also it shows the exciting social life of the singer.
It remains quite repetitive until the end of the piece. “Entry of the Gods into Valhalla” is a piece of art that is performed in an instrumental fashion by an orchestra. Listening to this song reminded me of someone enjoy a day, and suddenly something goes wrong which inflicts a sense of fear. The music was quite soothing in the beginning, but towards the end began to put listeners on edge by the eerie sounds being produced. I think this was a great choice for the opening piece because it captured the listener’s attention.
This Chaconne begins with a singing violin melody almost beguiling in its character, with a natural sense of ebb and flow that traverses numerous episodes. With the addition of double stops and chordal textures, the intensity gradually rises until it reaches the breaking point where the violin charges forward through a frenetic, virtuosic passage. First of all, the piece is quite interesting as a prelude – an introductory piece of music as it start off with dynamic and vibrant sounds that include the whole ensemble. This piece is structured as a three-part or ternary form which consists of ABA’ form. The idea of this piece is mainly act as an introductory of a story because this piece is only an excerpt from a bigger orchestral performance. From what I have heard, the solo performance is mainly comprise of the woodwind instruments in part B that indicated the slight sign of relief and calmness. The piece has a lot of variation where the composer include different timbres and dynamics such as the high dynamic structure during the first and the last part with the associating crashes of cymbals.
Piano and violins are in line with each other while the horn steadily plays offbeat in the ' 'though she feels as if she 's in a play. Through out the song, both string and horns come in without us noticing until the mood
