John Adams was a great president in the years 1797-1800, with many accomplishments. Some of the many challenges he went through during his presidency included the Jay Treaty, originally signed during Washington's term, the XYZ Affair, in 1797 to 1798, and the Quasi War with France. One of the challenges John Adams had to work through, throughout his presidency was the Jay Treaty, written in 1794, several years prior to Adam’s presidency. The Jay Treaty was signed during George Washington’s term with the British. One of the clauses that were included with the Treaty included the fact that any nations at war with Britain will have their trade be limited in US ports. He went through several challenges during his term, including the Jay Treaty, XYZ Affair, and the Quasi War. These three challenges exposed several roles he had to use during his presidency, mostly foreign policy maker and commander in chief. He used foreign policy maker by creating and dealing with several treaties with the French, as well as doing negotiations. And he used commander in chief by building up our Navy, and eventually going into a naval war with the French. John Adam’s presidency greatly impacted several moments after, including the Louisiana Purchase. Without his wise decisions when war was involved, this may have never happened, thus putting a large block on Manifest Destiny, something very important to the American people. James Taylor on Miller Center even said, “Seen in this light, Adams's legacy is one of reason, moral leadership, the rule of law, compassion, and a cautious but active foreign policy that aimed both at securing the national interest and achieving an honorable peace.” So in conclusion, John Adams was an amazing president who had absolutely fulfilled his job
• When Adams became president, the dispute with France carried over. The French looked at Jay’s Treaty as an American attempt to help the British in the war with France. To punish the U.S., the French took American ships that carried cargo to Brittan. During the fall of 1797, Adams sent a delegation to France with the hopes to end the dispute. The French foreign master wouldn’t meet with the Americans and instead demanded a bribe and loan from the Americans.
Samuel Adams graduated from Harvard in 1743, even though he was a very educated young man he struggled getting a successful business started because he had problems with handling his finances, but most young people face the same struggles. With no where to turn he joined his family business, and began to produce malt for brewing beer. In his spare time Samuel became an active writer with the independent paper, he was writing articles on the politics that were in the public. Politics became one of his interests in while studying law in college. Samuel was critical of local leaders in his articles because of their alignment with the British.
John Adams was born on October 30, 1735, and died July 4, 1826 when he was 90 years old. His family tree was descendant of Puritan colonists from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. John grew up with his father, mother, and two siblings. He studied at Harvard University. Adams was as the defense attorney for the British soldiers accused in the Boston Massacre and this is when he began to get some recognition.

This treaty basically states that if France were to be attacked and needed help, America would have to help France out because we the only reason we gained independence from Great Britain was due to the fact that France helped us. At this point in time, France has declared war on, Great Britain, Austria, Holland, Prussia, and Spain. There are clearly two sides to the debate.

William Marbury one of the recipients that was chosen by John Adams, refuse to accept Jefferson’s decision and took matters into his own hands. The facts of the case were vividly sought out, Marbury was to be appointed as justice of peace and his paperwork was completed and ready to be submitted before he could take office.

Andrew jackson was a important cotributor and one of the most influential presidents to ever serve the country. He took on the countries domestic issues and used his executive power far to its extent. Jackson effectivly evicted the native americans which stopped the conflict between the colonists. He vetoed the second bank of america, terminating the recharter bill from ever becoming a law. Also, he avoided south carolina’s seceding from the union.

John Adams was not a very liked president because Washington set the bar for the presidency pretty high. Adams was not a liked president for many reasons like the trouble with french, including setting off the XYZ affair, signing Jay’s Treaty, and sending the war fever through the United States, and one of the other reasons why Adams was not liked was the Alien and Sedition acts which violated the state's rights. These really started to affect his political life. If he had people making fun of him then he would not receive the right amount respect to run a country and then no one would take him seriously. Adams could not afford to have people bashing him so he created the Alien and Sedition Act. This Act targeted Republican immigrants by making the amount years to become a United States citizen from five to fourteen years. It also gave John Adams the power to deport an immigrant that deemed a threat to the United States.
