World History essay
In the year of 476, you can say the Roman Empire experienced a lot. Personally I believe the Roman Empire did indeed fall in the year of 476. Others may differ because of the countless events that shaped Rome at the time, but I believe Rome happened to have fallen. Now let me explain.
What leads me to assume Rome fell in 476 was the events that prove it. First, would be the Invasion’s by Barbarian Tribes. In the late 300’s, “barbarian” groups such as Goths had encroached way past the Empire’s boarders. This soon lead the Germanic Uprising in the late fourth century. The Germanic uprising lead to King Alaric pummeling the city of Rome. From that moment, Rome would spend the next several decades under constant threat and attack. But soon after, the “Eternal City” would be attacked again in 455 this time by the Vandals. Because of such turmoil that had

During this time as well, Rome was struggling and falling because of severe financial crisis. This event happened because of constant wars, overspending, oppresive taxation and Inflation between rich and poor. From reading, one could also infer that Rome wasn’t at all the powerful country it was projected as. Rome’s economy, depended heavily on slaves. With the halt in the second century, Rome’s supply of slaves along with other war treasures began to dry up.I’d say Rome wasn’t ready for such an economic downfall to happen. Further exposure came in the 5th century, when vandals took full control of North Africa and began disrupting the empire’s trade by sailing the Mediterranean Sea as pirates. At this point with its economy faltering and its local and commercial production in decline, the empire began to lose its grip on
1. Gauls, Celts and other groups invaded Rome for many varied reasons, including pressure from the distant Huns from the East. Rome had changed since its early years of glory, progressing from a republic governed by citizen-soldiers into an elitist bureaucracy governing a mostly idle citizenry. It had grown soft and weak. The Huns forced barbarian tribes to move east, and many settled in Rome.
Another reason Rome fell is because Rome grew too large. Rome included so many different lands and people, it started to add even more problems for Rome's economy. When Rome's expansion slowed, other conquered lands and people couldn't be part of the Empire, making them not under Rome's control. When the Emperor tried so solve the problem by raising taxes, normal living citizens couldn't pay for them and became poor. Soon Rome became too big and couldn't pay for itself, so when it couldn't pay for itself, it couldn't control itself.
Did Rome really fall? According to many scientists, it technically did, however from the information I have obtained in class, I believe it could be considered a dramatic transformation. Of course, when transforming something it is going to have its ups and downs and Rome did just that. From the time of Julius Caesar to Octavian and all the way through the Carolingian Empire, Rome went through many transitions. Diocletian, Constantine, Christianity, and the barbarian tribes all played a role in what happened to the Roman Empire.
Jordyn Hettwer 2-10-23 Mr. Robien 6th period What Were the Primary Reasons for the "Fall" of Rome Did you know Rome became the capital city of unified Italy in 1870, taking the title from Florence? the people in the middle east, northern Africa, the mediation region, western empire were called the roman empire, and they fell around 750 BCE and ended by the 5th century. the question being asked is What Were the Primary Reasons for the "Fall" of Rome?
The fall of Rome was mainly because of plagues wiping out most of the population. The fall of the Han dynasty began from decentralized rule. However, outside invasions had an effect on the fall of both classical civilizations. Series of plagues began to hit the Rome Empire by the 2nd century. These plagues lowered the population drastically.
Fall of Rome DBQ Including most of the Mediterranean world, Rome, a city that was growing big enough to become one of the world’s largest empire’s would soon slowly fall apart because of their problems. In 27 BC, Rome’s first emperor, Augustus Caesar, took complete power. During his time, he ruled with Pax Romana, a time of Roman peace which lasted for almost 200 years. After his death, the Roman Empire begun to break apart. The primary reasons for the fall of Rome was it being geographically too big; the population was decreasing due to plagues which led to the Roman army becoming weak, social and military issues and laziness of the military would guide the army down which led to cities being lost, and their government and leadership issues of the weak or selfish power leaders would all conduct to the breaking up of Rome.
This was a main source because in the time of the fall, according to Document A, an earthquake struck the Roman Empire, and measles were spread to Rome from Southern Asia, which led to the population dramatically dropping. This contributed to Rome 's collapse because the people of Rome were sick and the entire civilization was struggling to find a home and supplies to survive, which shows that Rome wasn 't a good place
There are several dates that are said to be the time when the collapse of Rome occurred. These dates include 565 A.D., 410 A.D., and 330 A.D. Some say that Justinian and his death marked the time when Rome actually collapsed. Some of the downfalls that will be mentioned in this paper were, high taxes and bankruptcy of the empire. After these economic problems the Western Empire will never recover to what it was.
Numerous arguments have been put forward by people who suggest that the Empire survived on through the Eastern half which remained after the West fell. Regardless of this there a myriad of reasons for why the Roman Empire collapsed and in particular the western half and it is interesting and significant to see what caused this decrease and ultimate downfall of Rome. Through the next few paragraphs the economic, social and political factors which led to the demise of the western half of the Roman Empire will be explored and examined. There are many explanations for the depletion of the Roman economy and their problems with finances and productivity loomed in the shadows for a long period prior to their downfall. At first, Rome’s economy was primarily built on and based upon agriculture, urbanization and slave labour
Mikhail Pitts Mrs. Roden World History Feb 17, 2023 Fall of Rome Theories Rome ruled and controlled much of Europe near the Mediterranean Sea. Because of this large empire and territory, it ultimately led to Rome’s downfall due to political, economic, and social issues. There were also several outside armies and invaders who came to take over Rome which in the end, doomed Rome and caused it to fail as an empire.
The Germanic invaders finally ousted the last roman empire by 476 AD. The end of the Roman Empire finally happened. In conclusion, The three Major causes of the the Fall of Rome were Economic Problems, Socico-Politcal problems, and external invasions The Roman Empire finally fell in 476 AD.
Germanic invaders pushed in on Rome from the northern borders and the Roman nemesis, the Persians, were putting pressure on the east with their army. The empire was too big to fight all of the enemies at once. As depicted above, the emperor Diocletian broke the empire in two. This did not help for long however because many emperors were dying quickly and being replaced with poor leaders. One book states, “That political predicament was made worse by the onset of increasing dire economic conditions; misery, fear, and depopulation caused by disease epidemics…”(Nardo, 18).
Maximinus was unsuccessful in his attempt to take over Rome. Rome was being attacked on two sides by Germanic and Middle Eastern tribes. This severely weakened Rome’s military but also it weakened their economy. While the external forces were detrimental to Rome their internal struggles seem to be what caused the start of their decline. The constant change of leadership was extremely detrimental to Rome.
The Roman empire was a significant power in the global economy and when it fell, it sent shockwaves throughout the world. According to Dr. Peter Heather, a Professor of Medieval History at King 's College in London, “many more of the more advanced elements of the Roman economy, such as specialised production and long-distance trade, quickly disappeared too.” When long distance trade and specialization disappeared, these people went back to farming as a source of income. The economy was so bad that in some places there was no money anymore and “by the early 5th Century in Britain, currency stopped being used altogether”(Wood).
The Fall of the Roman Empire The Roman Empire, the most dominant force of the world in its time, this empire was the most powerful economic, cultural, political and military force. But like all strong empire it finally fell. There were many main important reason. And that the Roman Empire fell. Some of the reason are, that the Romans was suffered by consistent attacks, had endured civil wars, had corruption in government, a change in religion and leader who did not make decisions for the better.
