The dogs die and the red fern grows between both of them. Lil ann wins a contest for best looking hound. Lil ann is multi colored in the book. Both dogs fall in the water in the book.

Ray Owens, until she met the Boatwrights family with the housekeeper, Rosaleen, and stayed with them. The Boatwrights family are the three black sisters who are August, May, and June. This novel took place in Sylvan and Tiburon, South Carolina, where Lily grew up and where she found the answer to her questions.

The story revolves around the Finch family. The Finch family includes Jean Louise Finch known as Scout, Atticus, and Jem. The children grow up being scared of a character named Boo Radley. The town believes he is abnormal and does monstrous actions. When the children are older, the problem they deal with the Tom Robinson case.

After a string of snakes being found becomes strangely to frequent, Nelson, the family helper, believes he is to be the next victim. In order to help calm him down, the Price sisters come up with a plan to catch who is planting these snakes. The plan is to spread ash around to the chicken coup, where Nelson lives, to see the footprints of the guilty. In the morning, they checked their trap and it was sprung. Footprints that matches the local witch but a snake was hiding in the shadows.

It is a great love story only enhanced by the outlandish characters and constant mockery. The pacing of the novel is slow at first until half way through the first volume. The plot then accelerates and by the third volume it is hard to put down. Characters such as Mr. Collins, Mrs. Bennet, and Lady De Bourgh were all hysterical caricatures meant that livened up the novel during times when the plot was thin. The novel would not have been as cohesive or interesting without characters to add comic relief.

I would have to say that one of many books that has helped to form my understanding of my faith is actually the book called Daisy Head Mayzie by Dr. Seuss. This story is about a girl who at the very beginning of the story is just like everyone else though rather quickly it becomes apparent, when she sprouts a daisy on her head, that she is rather different from everyone else. Over the course of the book she faces teasing and fame along with the desire to be normal and hating all of the attention. When I look back and try to imagine what I was thinking while reading this book it is initially hard because I was five years old when the book came out.
