Newton’s third law of motion states “every force there is an equal and opposite force or reaction.” (Merriam-Webster, 2017). It works the same way when we react to any type of violence to protect our country. We demand as a citizen to be safe on the streets in our country. Racial and or ethnic profiling by law enforcement personnel is sometimes justifiable and necessary. First, I will explain September 11, 2001 attacks to our country that led to the Transportation Security
Administration increase their awareness to specific race and ethnics. Secondly, the Boston bombing marathon attack and San Bernardino shooting. Thirdly, how some of the minorities act that makes the law enforcement act differently towards them.
In the first place, we

The mayor events that occurred and led the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to increase their awareness was September 11, 2001 suicide attacks. “The attackers were Islamic terrorists from
Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations”. (A&E Networks, 2017) The terrorist group is Islamic extremist group of al-Qaeda. This group hijacked four aircraft. Two of the aircraft flown into the towers of the world trade center, third to the pentagon and the last one in the fields of Pennsylvania.
As a reaction, the TSA increased the security inspections in all the airports due to the high alert awareness in the airports after these attacks. Meanwhile, the military began the Operation
Enduring Freedom. After these severe actions, everyone began to profile any Middle Eastern decedent. USA TODAY newspaper explained that worldwide, approximately 50 aircraft had been
Racial and or ethnic profiling 3 hijacked and “none in the U.S. according the Aviation Safety Network” (Jansen, 2016).
Another devastating event forced the law enforcement to profile minorities are the

The impact of these actions the law enforcement is more vigilant. Furthermore, the San Bernardino shooting ended with 14 dead and 21 injured. The masterminds were Syed Rizwan and his wife Tashfeen Malik, who lead this evil plan. Although the couple were not affiliated with any terrorist group. Even though they did not show any motive of the attacked, Mrs. Malik “expressed allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in a Facebook post, three U.S. officials familiar with the investigation told CNN” (Ahmed, 2015). If the law enforcement had learned from the marathon bombing, they could've prevented the San Bernardino
Shooting.
Finally, the law enforcement profiles minorities because the way they act and disrespect the police force authority. If you do not agree with something, you have the right to express. The first amendment gives the citizens the right to protest a longest it is civil way. The Black lives matters gave a negative reputation in their race. Looking back at the Milwaukee shooting, it resulted in a riot. If the purpose is to demonstrate that the black community do not agree with the injustice
Racial and or ethnic profiling
The Islamic group hijacked 4 airplanes and 2 of them were flown into the World Trade Center, 1 of them crashed into the Pentagon, and the last one crashed in the state of Pennsylvania.
In the United States of America today, racial profiling is when an individual is accused of committing a crime because of their race. There has been a lot of conversation about this topic whether racial profiling is okay or it’s considered as being racist and law enforcement can not stop and search someone because of their race. Racial profiling is a bad idea because people are being judged and might feel harassed because of their race. In an essay “Everything Isn’t Racial Profiling” written by Linda Chavez explains how Arab people are being discriminated at airports simply because they are Arab.
Around 8:45 o’clock the flight called United Airlines Flight 175 which started in Boston as well, was already hijacked. This aircraft flew in the South Tower of the World Trade Center. At this point, the people had to admit to their self that it was not just about an accident but about a horrible attack. The immediate evacuation was initiated.
There are many other people that are being racial profiled and discriminated on such as Arabs, and Muslims. “There is a basic assumption underlying racial profiling in the counterterrorism context, predominantly at airports and border crossings, is most likely to be committed by members of a particular racial, ethnic or religious group (in this context, Arabs and Muslims), and that members of that group are, in general, more likely than non-members to be involved in that type of criminal activity.” (civil rights) Like all the other assumptions that are being made these too are false. Authorities cannot go around racial profiling and discriminate on people just because of their color. This too is wrong and it needs to be stopped.
The events of 9/11 resulted in major changes to the way the United States conducts Airport Security. Two months after the attacks, Congress passed Aviation and Transportation Security Act. This act was the beginning of the United States government getting directly involved in airport security. Prior to 9/11, all airport security was directly handled by each airport. Airports were secured by privately owned security companies.
it’s time to hold law enforcement liable for their actions and practices involving targeting people because of their race, nationality and ethnicity. Racial profiling is a disputable topic in today’s society that has worsened over the years. Some might argue that social media is the reason for all the controversy; believing its influencing peoples attitude toward a certain direction depending on the situation, others believe minorities are being targeted.
Certain nationalities are targeted for a police have profiled Muslim, Arab, Hispanic, Black, and South Asian communities. The Bureau of Justice Statistics show variety of reasons. Law enforcement uses criminals statistics to profile people. Specific nationalities are targeted
Racial profiling was first created in the 1970’s when drug traffickers were punished (Justice). During the 1985, a program called Operation pipeline was created by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) for police officers. They were trained to pick out individuals who drove in certain areas based on their age and race (Meeks). From 1987 to 1989, Kenneth Wilson testified that he had been taught about profiling by his superiors and D.E.A. agents in seminars. In a document submitted to the court, he wrote: ‘I was directed and urged to stop and search persons who fit the profile if I wanted to make 'good arrests. '
Throughout history, disputes and tensions between law enforcement officials and communities of minorities have endured hostility and violence between each other. Racial profiling has become a “hot topic” for researchers as well as for politicians and by now it is likely that most citizens are at least aware of the common accusations of racial bias pitted against law enforcement (Cochran & Warren, 2013). Communities of color are being discriminated against and racially profiled by white police officers for any suspicion of criminal activities. It has been widely assumed by policy makers and citizens alike that allegations of racial profiling are mostly associated with the policing practices of white officers and their treatment of racial and ethnic minorities (Cochran & Warren, 2013). Also, individuals of minority descent will certainly recognize that they are being racially profiled during a stop that is being conducted by a white police officer.
The attacks on September 11th have had a profound impact on the nation and the world. There was short term and long term effects. After September 11th, the United States was filled with new found racism. Also, citizens became more worried and many people experience loss. First of all, the United States was filled with new found racism after September 11th.
The catastrophic terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, continue to have a notable effect on the United States. Nineteen members linked to the Islamic radical group Al-Qaeda executed suicide attacks; they took over four jet airliners, American Airlines Boeing 767 Flight 11, United Airlines Boeing 767 Flight 173, American Airlines Boeing 757 Flight 77 and United Airlines Boeing 757 Flight 93. Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Center North Tower in New York, NY. Shortly after, Flight 175 hit the World Trade Center South Tower. Afterwards, Flight 77 blasted into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
Danielle Johnson APMA 3 Topic: Racial Profiling Thesis Statement: Because of recent events in America including September 11th attacks, the influx of immigration, and recent racial tension with African Americans and police officers, there has been an increase in racial profiling. Racial profiling is a degrading practice that is a violation against human rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution, thus why the United states government should create effective guidelines restricting law enforcement officers from practicing racial profiling.
On the September 11th, 2001, the world stopped as New York City was attacked. The world famous Twin Towers we attacked. Suicidal terrorists hijacked commercial planes and crashed them into the tallest skyscrapers in the country. Thousands died, including the passengers on the planes, the people in the towers, the people in neighboring buildings, the people on the street and many first responders from all five boroughs and neighboring suburbs. One of the busiest cities in the world was at a standstill on that tragic day.
On September 11, 2001, nineteen al Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial U.S. jetliners, deliberately crashing two of the planes into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center and a third plane into the Pentagon. After learning of the other attacks, passengers and crew members on the fourth plane attempted to take back control, and the plane was crashed into an empty field in Western Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 people were killed on that day, the single largest loss of life from a foreign attack on American soil. However, this had not been the first time the World Trade Center had been a targeted by terrorists On February 26, 1993, terrorists placed a bomb in the garage beneath the World Trade Center. The explosion killed six people and injured more than 1,000 others.
Terrorist campaigns were climbing in decades prior to 9/11. A group of terrorists attacked New York’s World Trade Center on February 26, 1993. The aim of this attack was to drive two bomb loaded trucks into the basement of a building to bring down both of the towers of the World Trade Center. The mission was not accomplished, but the attack did kill six people. The organizer of this attack was Ramzi Yousef, whose uncle went on to be the operational commander of the attack at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
