Why Did George Washington Support The Country

Washington wanted to protect his reputation, he worried about it often. He had high expectations to live up to and he didn’t want to disappoint his people. Although, many people at the time were quite disappointed after they talked with him because he didn’t have a lot to say and he wasn’t considered an “intellectual” (33). But what he lacked he made up for in the way he executed his decisions. Washington was a superb military leader being the commander in chief.

Commencing out of these 15 presidents, I felt 6 were inadequate for me to include, thus I chose to eliminate them. William Henry Harrison, Harrison died 1 month into office after he caught a cold. (Summers) Obviously, 1 month into office wouldnt have allowed him to really do anything or have a big impact enough to include him in a criteria. Next Zackary Taylor he was a war hero in the Mexican American war giving him popularity allowing him to become president, though he died a year into office.

One Republic states that “Preparations for war were begun, and Washington was again asked to serve as Commander-in-Chief of the American Army.” The picture portrays that America’s success was a combination of practical learning and military. George Washington played a huge part in developing the United States after the war. One Republic states that “When Washington retired to private life, he sent a letter to the governors of all States urging that something should be done to give more power to the congress.” Washington was also elected president.

George Washington and Indian Policy George Washington was elected the President of the United States in 1789, and as everybody knows, was the first President in American history. For people who do not know who the first president is, he can be found on the dollar bill. After Washington was selected as the president, he chose various people to run each department in the government. He selected General Henry Knox for the Department of War, Alexander Hamilton for the Treasury, and Thomas Jefferson for the State (218). Alongside those people, Washington was President for a number of years (winning reelection in 1792) until John Adams became president in 1796.

He also knew that if a civil war were to break loose, we would be forced to take help from foreign countries, and they could put us in debt or start running our country from the outside. Keeping us free without outside influence helped develop a fierce sense of nationalism, one where everyone would forget their ties with Britain and establish their own culture. This policy of neutrality kept America from being taken back by the British, but more importantly it kept us from falling apart like many other fledgling countries. If George Washington hadn’t stopped foreign entanglement, America would have been in bad trade deals hampering our growth and not allowing us to prosper in the

George Washington had tremendous leadership abilities. I think George Washington had tremendous abilities because, he was confident that his army of soldiers could defeat the Hessians in the Revolutionary war. Even though they were young kids and the Hessians were believed to be genuinely good when it comes to battle. Many people including General Gates were doubting his army. Another reason why I think George Washington had tremendous abilities in leadership is because, he is a proud man.

George Washington was a great leader. He had shown his leadership skills in many ways throughout his life, but mainly when he stepped into the role of president. In my opinion, George Washington was the best president the United States of America has ever had because he was the first president. He stepped into a completely new role in a new government system, set precedents for the role, and led our country diplomatically. While Washington was not perfect, as no human being is, he was a great president and proved so in his eight years in office.

He was with the idea of slavery, but he didn't like the idea of buying and selling of slaves ( Usel 11). He was against the Stamp Act in 1765 and argued against it, he was against it because he didn't like the idea of do taxes ( "George Washington. " Biography In Context). Even though his education was limited, his knowledge made people believe in him(Chase).

George Washington is most known for his leadership as both a general during the revolution and the first president after the war was concluded and the Constitution was ratified. George Washington was very loved by the American people for his leadership as a general. This contributed to the constitution being ratified as most of America had enough faith and trust for Washington that it opened them up to the idea of an executive branch. George Washington also mediated when the Continental Congress met to amend the Articles of Confederation.4 It can be assumed his presence eased some tensions due to his

Everyday George Washington is seen around without people even realizing it, his face is seen on the one dollar bill and quater,his name is read everywhere, whether it is in towns,colleges, schools and even states. Of all the things a president needs, the most important trait is loyalty, and Washington had just that. Most people admired his sense of thinking. It was always fast and quick, he never doubted himself and that is something to admire. He also found himself in some sticky situations, whether it be Hamilton and Jefferson 's many disagreements, a law to pass.

This was a crucial precedent that set the stage for the country's democratic system. Despite being offered a third term as President, Washington declined, recognizing the importance of maintaining the peaceful transfer of power (George Washington's Accomplishments). This established a tradition that has been followed by every President since, contributing to the stability and strength of the country's political institutions. Washington's legacy also includes his emphasis on national identity and unity. He believed that the United States was a unique and exceptional nation, and he worked to create a sense of national pride and purpose.

Founding Fathers live exactly like us. They could be respected from getting the U.S. started, but they are still normal people, with every too-human quirk and relative problems. Thomas Jefferson was too worried to discuss with a crush. John Adams disliked the post-independence business. George Washington got really angry While they were not related to another world, the Founding Fathers were amazigly trained and talented.

The greatest president that has ever served the United States is George Washington. He was not only the first president of the United States but also the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was victorious over the British and quickly became a hero doing so. He helped draft the constitution and with his leadership and courage. As first president, he become a role model for every other present succeeding him and helped create our countries values that we cherish so much today.

Out of the three that are listed here I think that his part in the American Revolution was the most important. Without him we wouldn’t have a leader, nor would we have continued to fight on. This was the first step to our new nation and without him we would have given up/still be under British rule. People like Washington have given people a voice and has motivated them throughout the years. He had kept our hopes up whenever we felt the need to give up and because of his role/actions we are our own
