Some might argue that the US is one of the greatest countries in the world, but compared to others, it's one of the worst when it comes to gun control. It has become apparent that the gun control policies aren't as strict as they should be, as everyday in the US, an average of 36 people are killed at the hands of guns and more than 32,000 people are killed annually. Guns violence impacts society in many ways. Statistics show more people have been killed by guns than all the American wars since 1968 and it's estimated that 280 million people currently own a gun in the US. A country where 280 million people running around with firearms that cause fatal harm is incredibly alarming. 4.5 million firearms are purchased every year in the US, but we can't always assume that people would inflict harm onto others. Guns are purchased for many reasons, one of the biggest is self-protection and hunting An organization such as the National Rifle Association actively promotes the idea that any US citizen has the right to bear arms. Why? because America is practically built on the concept of freedom. The idea came from the Second Amendment of the Constitution which states …show more content…
Another question is “Are guns really necessary in our daily lives?”. Many people buy guns for many reasons. However, there are others who abuse that power to inflict pain upon others. The sad truth is, banning all guns will not stop all the gun violence because ultimately, its not the guns that kill people. However if somebody wants to buy a gun, then there should be stricter background checks on medical records to see if there are any issues with mental health. Security precautions could also be added, such as extra guards and metal detectors, but that can cost a huge amount of
In the USA everyone has right to own anything or right to purchase whatever they want. In the same way people are purchasing the guns for different views. Some of them are purchasing to protect themselves and also they think that they have right to own it. Whereas, the others believe that they earn money by harming or blacking others. The best example is the death of an international student Sai Kiran Goud .On
Due to the unfortunate events that have happened in the past, many people are strongly for the regulations of firearms in the United States. Even though there are occasions where firearms are used by criminals for nothing less than evil, there are still many situations where firearms have been used to stop that same kind of evil. From stopping a criminal from robbing a convenient store to from stopping a sniper from killing more people than he already has, firearms have been used for good and not for evil in more situations than not. Many people in our nation believe that we should follow the example of some European nations and outright ban the sell and ownership of firearms.
Amendment two in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights grant the people or citizens of the United States of America the freedom to own guns and the guns cannot be taken away. In December, 1791, Amendment two was ratified and granted citizens freedom by being able to keep and bear Arms (Brooks, The Second Amendment & the Right to Bear Arms). Amendment two is important to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights because the give citizens the right to keep and bear Arms, allows citizens to become safer, and the Amendment helps citizens protect their families and relatives incase of emergencies without being forced to give up their guns. Gun Rights are a reason why Amendment two is important to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The gun
Gun Control Gun control is one of the most talked about issues in America with the many mass shootings in the past years. People are scared and worried for themselves and their families, most of these people want guns to be banned or at least restricted. While the other part of Americans believe that guns are not the issue and feel that banning them would go against their constitution right to bear arms. As of 2013 an estimated 270 million total guns are registered to people in the United States.
Does The U.S. Need Tougher Gun Laws In my opinion i think there should be stricter gun laws because in the Text it says “Guns don't cause crimes, but they do make crimes more lethal” which is true because having a gun can promote violent actions. having stricter gun laws are just to keep america safe. instead of it being possible to get a gun when ever you're going to have to go through background checks. If this law was passed i think it could cause a better future for everybody.
“Gun control is an important thing to know about and why it either helps people or doesn’t help them. Shootings are happening everywhere. This shows that the United States has 88.8 guns per 100 people, or about 270,000,000 guns, which is the highest total and per capita number in the world. On Procon.com it states this informthion. This statistic may not come as a surprise to most. What may shock you, however, is how gun control can actually hurt your communities, and in more way than one.
Gun Violence In America Gun violence in america accounted for 33,636 deaths in 2015 alone and that number is only rising. If every american was able to obtain a firearm imagine what the numbers of gun related deaths. Even gun related injuries caused many more hospital visits in america what many other common incidents. That is why america needs to implement tighter gun laws to reduce the amount of gun violence in America. Without this we will continue to see shooting, gun death, gun injuries resulting in more and more gun related violence.
America has the highest rate of homicide along with the most guns per person. Lawmakers are trying to argue about gun control in other countries already causing less of a chance of gun related deaths. Countries such as Canada and the United Kingdom have had small amounts of success with their gun laws but, crime does not seem to have dropped off like they hoped. Adding all of the new gun laws and regulations in America would most likely get the same end result as those two countries. Despite Norway suffering one of the worst public shootings in recent memory, their gun laws still seem rather loose. “
Gun Violence and The Push for Gun Control It is safe to say that all Americans have seen a gun either in a book, magazine, on tv or they are a responsible gun owner themselves. Guns have been a part of our American culture since the founding of our nation and is ingrained in our constitutional rights. Majority of Americans have come to appreciate guns either through sport, hunting or self-defense. Unfortunately, guns also have an alternative application, violence. The application of a firearm in a violent manner has led to a more significant debate on gun control laws and the accessibility of use.
Overall comments Recently there have been many debates about gun control, this is because of the rise of gun violence in the US. Many Conservatives and Republicans think that guns are their right, and it is their second amendment to bear arms in order to protect themselves, claiming it is unpatriotic to change it. However, according to Scholastic, the constitution has been amended 27 times since it was written. Some of these people think the solution to gun violence is to arm teachers and fight fire with fire.
The number of incidents of gun violence last year in the United States was about 60,000. In recent years, the number of mass shooting has risen to about one mass shooting per day in the United States. The country is divided with some wanting to reevaluate our gun control laws and either ban or add additional regulations to the purchase of guns. Others say it is our right for Americans to own guns and something the founding fathers considered important to put in the Bill of Rights. The number of firearm sales has risen with the number of mass shooting many Americans question if banning guns or certain guns could help decrease the number of gun violence deaths.
In 2009 a German high-school student went on a rampage and killed 15 other students, he didn’t have a gun, he used his dad 9MM. Even in a country with strict gun laws, a shooter was still able to find a gun to use. Shootings like this has started a debate on whether there should be stricter gun control laws. Some people believe that gun control laws will help shooting when some believe that it’s not going to stop shooters from getting a gun and shooting people. Even though there has been many massacre shootings, the US doesn’t need stricter gun control laws.
The average cost of one, single gun crime can even go up to $1.79 million. And, in case you didn’t know, it’s us — the taxpayers who are paying that fee. So, then, not only is it safer without each individual owning a firearm, it’s also much cheaper — and, therefore, more practical. But, back to reality, where, in America, three percent of the population own half of the civilian guns; this may not seem like a problem now, but if robbed or accidents are to happen, you would surely see why this is can be a large risk factor. In fact, according to multiple surveys, 44% of Americans personally know someone who has been shot by a gun.
Gun control is now one of the main issues in North America because of all the crimes involving guns in the past decade. Nearly, 25,000 people died due to uncontrollable gun violence in 2005. Americans should oppose government policy about the gun laws because it is a moral duty to ensure safety due to many people are being killed. Throughout the last ten years, the number of mass shooting and innocent people who gave died in the United State has been rising.
