The City of Chiago issued an ordinance against night games at Wrigley because the lights would be distraction to people that lived in the neighborhood but in 1988, exceptions were made. It's one of the only ballparks where neighborhood residents can sit on the roof and watch the game. In the 1990s, owners of apartments built bleachers on their roofs and started charging people to watch the game. The Cubs organization agreed not to block the view with a fence as long as the owners of the apartments agreed to share some of the proceeds with the cubs. Today, Wrigley field is the last Federal League ballpark standing. Even with lights and new videoboard, WRigley field remains one of baseball's most old-fashioned parks. Wrigley is more than a ballpark, important part of Chicago's history and culture. To chicagoans, it comes with interesting stories and traditions, and has a personality of its own. This week’s article, “Six Lies about the Marlins Stadiums,” by Elfrink unveils that the Marlins stadium used the taxpayers’ money unwisely. Simply maintaining this stadium costs more than what the Marlins stadium brings in. Thus, the Marlins Stadium has a low gross income, which is very problematic for the taxpayers, since they might be a certain way of using their money for that. According to Jordan Rappaport and Chad Wilkerson in the article, “What Are the Benefits of Hosting a Major League Sports Franchise?”

Greg quickly sped through the minor leagues where he was called up to the majors on September 1, 1986 only 2 years after being drafted. Greg made his debut at Wrigley field on September the 4th in the 18 inning of a game that started the day before. At this time Wrigley didn’t have lights yet so all the games were played in the day and if it got too dark they suspended the game and picked it up the next day. Greg gave up a homerun and the cubs lost the
The team was very good , they had good players and they played the games well .They won the championships in the years 1906 and 1917. “The 1906 White Sox team were known as the Hitless wonders because they were on a hot momentum”. The older fields are so unique that could never be duplicated, are always trying to be copied in some ways, but they can never have the feeling of history like Babe Ruth hitting a home run in there ball park, or old news reels, showing how little the park has changed from when it first open to the present day. Then you can go to U S Cellular, in which can only be said that it is a very generic ball park, there is no feel of history, because there is no history. And if people are brave enough to go to the upper deck, they better have a safety rope to get tied down so they roll all the way down to the field, there is such an incline to get to their seats it is scary. There are some good things to say about White Sox Park there are abundances of parking and no lines to wash rooms and better food, there is a reason for no lines and parking is because nobody goes to the games. Wrigley is going through some upgrading at this present time, by adding some new bleachers, and remodeling some new washrooms, and carefully keeping thing as close to the original design, to keep the

I can remember as a young girl living in Baltimore that the demolition of Memorial Stadium, the longtime home of the Baltimore Orioles, was a big deal, though I certainly didn 't understand why. I also remember the intense debate about what the new stadium was going to be named and the importance that the City of Baltimore and its residents placed on the name. It seemed as though the entire identity of the City was hanging on the success of this project. This was when Cal "Iron Man" Ripken was still showing up to play every night and the Orioles had more than one pitcher who could throw strikes. We loved the Orioles and were excited that our team was getting a new home.
