Wiley Bridgeman spent over half his life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. In 1975 Bridgeman was one of three men falsely convicted and imprisoned for the murder of Harold Franks. Wiley Bridgeman was sentenced to life in prison after being charged with aggravated murder and robbery, but after a retrial almost 40 years later, he was found innocent and was able to spend the few remaining years of his life with his family. Wiley Bridgeman was 20 years old when he was accused of a crime he didn’t commit.

Georgia, Furman and his attorneys helped the supreme court decision that overturned his death sentence. Furman killed someone while robbing someone’s home and was sentenced to death. He did not feel that that was right and him and his attorneys argued that the fourteenth amendment protected him from his punishment. There are not as many death penalties in today’s world in America because of this case. I would not have voted for Furman on this case though, I strongly agree with Georgia.

Furman was not even given a decent lawyer at the local level, which proves how little chance he had to win his case. According to many studies around the time, many “defendants who were black or mentally ill received the death penalty more often than those who were white, and mentally healthy” (Lane). This

On Tuesday November 12, 1963 Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade go missing after the scene of Bob Sheldon’s murder. The two boys were seen running by the the park just before the incident, witnesses say that there had been a gang fight including Curtis, Cade, and Sheldon. Based on my research, I have come a conclusion that Burke, John, and Patsy Ramsey played apart in JonBenet’s murder. Burke Ramsey, JonBenet’s brother who was inside the residence after returning home with his parents from Christmas dinner with friends, may have accidentally knocked his sister JonBenet Ramsey unconscious over the head with a flashlight during a feud over a bowl of pineapples. Boulder’s Detectives noticed in the kitchen during their investigation a flashlight on the counter top possibly a weapon used to strike JonBenet in the head.
