Women's Role In The War Of 1812

The war of 1812 happened between June 1812 and February 18 1815 and was a conflict between the u.s and britain. Which also included native americans which were divided since some decided to help britain and others the u.s. And in this war I believe that the u.s won, the war of 1812 due to the many positive outcomes thanks to the war. The war happened due to u.s sailors being impressed which means being taken off their ships and into british ones. since britain could say that they thought they were british runaways and also due to other british aggressions.

The war of 1812 occurred on June 18, 1812. This is when James Madison, the President of the United States, declared war on Britain. The war lasted for two and a half years. Then a peace treaty was signed by James Madison on December 24, 1814, but the fighting ceased January 8, 1815. In the War of 1812 the United States, which was a nation running on the Constitution for twenty five years met Great Britain on the battlefield for their second war over the past 37 years.

The war was met with lasting rallies against it and the army was no treaty to fight the British, again. Monroe was in charge of the defense system in Washington D.C. The war ended moderately well with the Ghent Treaty and the nationalism was spreading across the growing country. In 1815 he resigned as Secretary of State and a few years later there was no amendment that said that the president couldn’t serve more than 2 terms. The War of 1812 was a war that was caused by both the English and French imposing economic sanctions on the United States, the British impressment of American seamen into the Royal Navy, and America’s desire to expand (History). The countries of Great Britain and France were locked in a conflict and neither wanted the other to attain any supplies from neutral countries thus the implementation of economic sanctions on countries like the United States. The U.S. were also outraged by the fact that the British Royal Navy would commandeer American seamen off of vessels and force them to serve under the crown and not be allowed to leave. America has gone through many conflicts that have shaped our country, both good and bad ways. The War of 1812 was a minor engagement that still had an important effect on American society. This was a war fought between the United States and Great Britain over British violations of U.S. naval rights. Throughout time Native Americans joined alongside British forces because of the way the US mistreated them and so they wanted justice for their homelands. The War of 1812 proved to be an important war for the United States despite the original objective’s failure to thrive. Originally the United States’ strategy for combating the British economic sanctions was to invade Canada, alas; the States were ill equipped for such a task at hand. Especially since all troops available were not permitted to join the fight, some states would not allow their militia to travel beyond their state borders. Due to the States’ advance to Canada, the British returned the favor and brought the war south and into the States themselves. During the duration of the war the newly founded country had a chance to prove itself to be a force to be reckoned with.

The final perspective is held by the Native Americans. The War of 1812 was an important conflict for the native inhabitants of North America. During the years before the war, the United States wanted to expand its territories. This fueled the invasion of native homelands throughout the territories. The Native leaders who emerged in response to this expansion shared a concern of protecting tribal lands.

My goal is to be able to explain and discuss the important facts about the “Battle of 1812”, and to make you understand the heritage of that event in the history of America and Great Britain. I will explain it accordingly starting from the time before the war, the reasons of the war, the times during the battle, and the agreement for peace and the victory. The war was in a stalemate with both sides counting the losses. The 1812 war placidly favored the Americans. The British forces and government no longer had the reasons of interfering with trade in America as they were defeated by the French forces. The Indians who were the greatest stumbling block to the white settlement and expansion were not a threat anymore. Becoming a honorable and pride filled moment for America, the war caused us to gain our national anthem, the Star-Spangled Banner, and almost lose our capital: Washington, D.C to the British due to a dire.

Everyone was affected by the American Revolution, white men, white women, slaves men or free men, everyone. Women served in several ways during the war some of them even fought on the battlefield. But most history books don’t really cover the women 's roles in the American Revolution, little is covered on their contribution to the America 's independence. But in reality they were fiercely active in the American Revolution. What role did they play?

Women of the revolution were astounding. They were brave and courageous against the much legality that prevented participation. An example of this is Deborah Simpson who disguised herself as a man to fight in war that at the time only allowed men participants. Women were in the background fighting for independence along with colonial men. Women fought for individual liberty to not have to be spoken for by their husbands, to have a voice that can be heard and with political judgment.

The problem of women rights is a very enormous conflict in the world which is still existing today. American Revolution is also known as a Revolutionary War. During the time of American Revolution women does not have enough rights. Before the beginning of the American Revolution, ladies were perceived solely as associate degree appendage to their husbands and fathers, while not taking any half within the political lifetime of the country. On the birth of a girl, their father soon decide their husband that who is going to get married with his own daughter.
