The medicinal properties of literature are a sacred belief of the Stó:lō peoples. The power of poetry helps relieve the chronic wounding created by the colonizers. Maracle begins by addressing how the movement of colonialism caused irreversible intergenerational trauma among the Indigenous communities. She shames the Canadian government because none of the real people who evoked the damage had ever faced confrontation.

A remote island that has remained uninfluenced by humans is now on the verge of losing its wolf population due to genetic deformities. The island is called Isle Royale and its once abundant wolf inhabitants have now dwindled to three remaining wolves. This leaves many scientists and researchers with the question of what actions to take in order to save the wolves from extinction. After researching and gathering information, it is clear that the best way to save these wolves is for humans to immediately introduce more wolves to the island in order for the island to flourish, genetic variation to expand, and the number of wolf offspring to rise.

In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?

Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. He spoke out after many generations of mistreated Indigenous Australians that had their rights and equality continuously ignored, but after all that has happened, including the effect of broken families, which still in 2018 have the aftermath of "The stolen generation", there was only one public apology and no compensation for the damages caused to the native people of this country.

One of the most infamous political events that happen in Central Park, was the controversial court case regarding the Central Park Five. The Central Park Five, represents the five colored teenagers convicted of raping a white woman in Central Park during 1989. New York City in the 1980s was a period of time that was racially charge with violence. The levels of uneasiness between New Yorkers maximized after this incident. Headlines during that time period called these teenagers “ Wildings and Wolves”(Duru,2004).
