Abortion: Pro-Life, Pro Choice, And Education

Around 90% of abortions in the UK are carried out in the first trimester, (before 12 weeks of pregnancy), when the fetus is about the same size as a lime and weighs less than 14 grams. The fetus that is growing inside the the mother’s womb isn 't considered a human being. It can’t survive alone without the nutrients from the mother, therefore it is not yet a person.

There are many women who have been raped and it can be argued that ethically they have the right to have an abortion as they did not choose to get pregnant, but in Christianity’s view a life is a life, regardless of how it occurred. Christians are said to be apart of the pro-life arguments (Ridder, Karen. "Abortion: 5 Pro-Life Arguments Made by Christians.) Abortion runs counter to most Christian beliefs. Even those denominations that support the right, believe that abortion is most-often not the right choice.

Two effects an action of killing can have are whether the one doing the killing foresees someone’s death or intends for someone’s death. Foreseeing what will happen to someone is what the one who’s doing the doing can predict, or can infer what the outcome will be such as an indirect action. Someone who intends for someone’s death, or of something, is what the individual wants to accomplish, in other words, it is their means in which they are wanting to reach such as a direct action. The debate between what distinguishes the act of someone intending and foreseeing someone’s death is familiar to how people also distinguish their moral views between abortion and pro-choice. My view is simply this, because both debates are not set in stone in the sense of moral standards.

Abortion has sparked a major debate over two types of social groups; the pro-choice advocates and the pro-life advocates. Pro-choice advocates believe that abortion should be up to the discretion of the mother, where pro-life advocates do not believe that abortion is a feasible way of dealing with an unwanted pregnancy (Cook, Erdman & Dickens, 2014). Within these two groups there are additional groups that are separated by religion and organization, and each of these groups bring their own beliefs and objectives with regard to the issue. Abortion is a controversial topic and there are two different views of abortion. To some abortion it is considered a “life-saver” because they are either very young and are still in school or cant afford to keep the child. If a pregnant teenage girl gets an abortion she is able to go to college, get a job, and has kids later on when she has the money to support them. Abortion also helps keep the population down. It also provides jobs for doctors, nurses, and other personal needed for abortions.

In todays secular perspective various individuals deem that the "pro-choice" view of abortion is more sensibly coherent than the "pro-life" view. Several activist debate for women rights and the privilege of a women to have complete control over her body. The secular world, women's rights groups, and the entertainment business promote the Pro-choice evolution: the privilege to decide to have abortion on request. The Pro-choice concept gives individuals the right to choose one’s own life style. Abortion advocates a way of life in which individuals are allowed to participate in sex outside of marriage, and deal with any undesirable children that may happen.

The Roe v. Wade case decision has been very controversial even today when it comes to abortion. This case argued that abortion should be legal and that women should have the right to decide such important decision. Roe v. Wade divided the nation during the 1970s like no other case has before. In the 1970's every state had different laws and regulations in regards to abortion but most states banned abortion unless the health of the mother could be at risk if she was to give birth (McBride).

). Pro choice activists feel that states have once again have interfered with a woman’s choice to choose. One error made by abortion supporters is that they believe that states are now creating hostile conditions for woman to have abortions. According to “Abortion Rights are Threatened”, states are mandating that woman receive “biased” counseling and that parental involvement requirements become harsher for minors electing to have abortions.

My stance on abortion is that it should be illegal, unless there are health risks involved, major ones. Other than that, I really do not feel you should get an abortion. There is always adoption. If you do not want the baby, then give it to someone who does.

Abortion has many pros and cons ha deserve to be properly discussed ad deliberated upon,before one makes a decision to support or oppose it. Every year man young women within the United States find themselves faced with an unplanned pregnancy. Whether it was unplanned or they were a victim of un consensual sex,it should naturally be the woman 's choice to have the baby or not.
