Presentation of the Research Question Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, pre-birth by removing the fetus from the uterus. It is one of the most controversial issues in America today. Pro-life and pro-choice are the two sides to supporting the cause of abortion. Pro-life believe all abortion should be illegal no matter the case and pro-choice believe women should have the choice to choose whether she wants to end the pregnancy or not. Abortion should be illegal in the United States under all circumstances because it is immoral and while women should have a choice, the choice should be to have safe sex, not to end an innocent life (Karstadt). Abortion is a cruel, unnatural and immoral human act. In the bible, God created man and …show more content…
A human fetus is one of the most complex organizations on Earth solely by the formation of each internal organ as the external body is formed at the same time. A fetus has the capacity for metabolism because in order to grow, the baby must intake of food from the mother. Capacity for growth is obvious in the formation of a fetus and the baby continues to grow once outside the womb. A baby can respond to stimuli because a pregnant woman can feel the baby moving in her stomach after hearing a familiar voice such as hers or the soon to be father’s. Capacity for change is evident in a fetus because of the many different changes in undergoes in the short nine months it spends in the womb. A fetus has all of the basics of biological life to be considered alive, therefore the baby is a …show more content…
Where abortion may be beneficial to the teen because she will not have to change her life because of an unwanted baby, there are other options than abortion such as adoption. Ninety percent of families who cannot get pregnant, consider adoption; that is twenty percent of American families as a whole. There are 1.2 million adoptions each year and the abortion rate is only .2% lower than the adoption rate (Karstadt). Foster care is another alternative from abortion. Foster care places the child in another home until can be better equipped for by their birth parents or put up for
Unborn babies are considered human beings by the US. 2. Federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, say’s: “to protect unborn children from assault and murder,” states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should “be punished…for intentionally killing or attempting to kill a human being.” The act also states that an unborn child is a “member of the species homo. sapiens.”
Abortion Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy and is most commonly preformed in the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. Most surgical abortions are safe but can be expensive which cause many people to get unsafe abortions. About 47,000 women die from complications from these unsafe abortions. Due to the many different views of abortion, it is a very controversial topic today. Abortion can be looked at in numerous ways based on the following theories, Structural-functionalism, conflict theory, and symbolic interaction.
Why Abortion Should Be Illegal Abortion has been a popular debate in the United States, especially after the Supreme Court ruling in 1973 stating a woman has the right to an abortion. In my opinion, abortion is wrong and very unethical. There are some specific instances where abortion may be acceptable, but for the most part, abortion is an evil act. Abortion should be illegal because it is the killing of an innocent human, even if he or she has not been born yet.
Instead of having an abortion, women can choose a more beneficial option, such as giving the baby up for adoption. When women decide to get an abortion, they don’t think about adoption because of the long process, even though it can help other families who can’t have children. For example “It’s logical that anti-abortion organizations seeking to prevent abortions and promote traditional family structures would aggressively promote adoption, but this connection is often overlooked…”(Joyce). Many women that get pregnant with an unwanted child usually look into having an abortion first rather than going through the long process of pregnancy and giving the baby up for adoption. Furthermore, “In President Obama 's speech… he suggested that one solution to lowering abortion rates is making abortion more available”(Joyce).
Abortion is a matter of life and death, which took the life of an unborn child. However, the secular worldview believes that a fetus in the womb is not a child or human. Many people claim that a fetus in the womb
An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus. The procedure is done by a licensed health care professional (NIH, national library of medicine). When we the people legalize abortion, the killing of unborn babies we are saying: people are allowed on this planet only when their presence does not inconvenience those who rule their lives. I think of the Greatest Happiness Theory, doing the things that create the greatest happiness to the greatest number.
Even though there is another form of abortion which is spontaneous or miscarriage. Which is equally unfortunate. Abortions had become very common, and is not something that is just happening now, its been happening for a while from the 1970's to be exact.. People think depending of their situation, that is the best option so they can resolve their problem, some others think about it thoroughly but regardless still an ethical situation. We are dealing with a life forming in a womb which depending of the time of conception can create a debate and raise many questions. Their is a lot of controversy about topic.
Abortion Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by abolishing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus. Abortion is a very controversial topic, for example, one side of this topic believes abortion is cruel and committing murder, while the other side believes that since the fetus or embryo isn 't developed enough to be considered a living human being yet, that abortion is not commiting murder. Despite this information, there is a lot more to abortion than the opinion of it being “right” or “wrong”. According to “Students for life” who are pro life, about 1 million abortions are executed each year in the US. That data adds up to 22% of pregnancies ending in abortion.
Is abortion becoming a modern life cause of casualty? Should abortion be completely banned? Why should we fight against abortion? According to statistics, there is an equal “yes” and “no” answers regarding the issue, ventilating opinions over the matter, thus fortifying arguments revolving it. Indeed, abortion is becoming a modern life cause of casualty and is also becoming an option.
Abortion was legalized on January 22, 1973. This law was very controversial at the time, and divided the nation on opposing sides. The idea that drives many to believe that abortion is right, is that the embryo or fetus is not a human being. This belief should be wrong in the mind of many because it is still an execution of a life and as Dr. Seuss once said, “A person is a person, no matter how small”. First of all, the main reason people abort is because they are not ready to raise a child.
It’s important to define the different stages of fetal development. After initial fertilization the fertilized egg moves into the uterus and implants itself in the uterine wall, during this time the egg is known as a zygote this stage lasts around 10 days. The next stage in pregnancy for around the next eight weeks the zygote becomes an Embryo. Then once it has developed organs becomes a fetus until birth at around 40 weeks (Borgerson, 2017). A person has the ability to think and express their own beliefs, ideals, and cognitions.
Abortion should be illegal because it unjustly takes innocent lives, insults and violates Christian values, and inflicts pain and illnesses on
In fact, abortion is destroying the life of a child; therefore, it should be expressed as morally wrong, except when circumstances
To most families, pregnancy can be a blessing. To others, it’s a curse. Most the time, those others get abortions. That is when you stop the embryo from developing into a human. Many people don’t agree with abortions because they say that it’s murder and it should be illegal.
The statement “life for life” suggests that the unborn child is alive (Stephens et al. 515). However, the laws of the Old Testament cannot apply in the life of Christians today. It only applied to the
