She would even care for babies while their parents rested. Ong was very professional and calm during this flight. Her call was the first call to alert American Airlines of the hijackings. Soon after, American Airlines shut down flights nationwide. “The other flight attendants on the airplane relayed information for Betty to report while also trying to keep the passengers safe and as calm as possible during the terrifying flight” (Betty Ann Ong Foundation). “Um, the cockpit’s not answering. Somebody’s stabbed in business class, and um i think there is Mace that we can’t breathe. I don’t know, I think we’re getting hijacked”. Betty told American Airlines. Soon after the hijackers replied with a message to the whole aircraft. “Nobody move, everything will be OK. If you try to make any moves, you will injure yourself and the airplane. Just stay quiet”. The policemen were waving their arms, shouting, and amidst the crowd was a guy who had been on the eighty-first floor of Two World Trade Center when the plane hit. It was just after 10 A.M Two World Trade had just collapsed, and One World Trade stood smoldering behind him” ( Beller 60). Sure, I got time The Websters dictionary defines a hero as someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Heroes are ordinary people who find the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. They are the real heroes, and so are the families and friends who have stood by them. Maya Angelou stated, “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this world a better place for all people.”

To me, a hero is someone who is admirable and does good things but isn't perfect. Ruby Bridges is a hero because she helped desegregate schools so all skin colors can go to any school and receive the same education as white people instead of only getting taught certain things. She managed to do it even when she had almost nobody supporting her and even with multiple people saying bad words and traumatizing her she still managed to carry out her idea and desegregate

Jackie Robinson In my opinion I think a hero is a person that changes lives forever. My hero is Jackie Robinson because he is the first African American baseball player, first African American to win NL MVP, and the first African American to have his number retired. The first reason I think Jackie Robinson is a hero because he was the first African American to play baseball.
A hero is anyone who makes the right decision to sacrifice for a person in need. For example, without heroes like firemen, wildfires and house fires would spread across the nation, costing lives and loss of worldly possessions. Firemen stand strong, risk themselves, and protect all for the well-being, safety of others, and personal property. In addition,
In the short essay, The Price We Pay, Adam Mayblum writes about being in North Tower during 9/11 terrorist attacks. He talks about what he thought was going how and how they got out. This short paper started out as an email that he was sending to a friend. He then had it published online and it essentially went viral. While reading the passage, I found myself very intrigued with how everyone inside had no idea what was happening.
Debi Mazar is an actress who stated, “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tried to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really, deeply cares.” Heroes are relevant to everyone, because at some point, everyone has had a hero. Sadly, today’s society degrades the meaning of the word “hero”. Heroes are an important aspect of life, but famous people are not always heroes.
