Think about your favorite coach. Think about why he or she is your favorite coach. What traits does he or she possess that makes them great? Those reasons are some of the traits Trevor Weeks owns and uses in his coaching. Weeks shapes the lives of every young boy that he coaches every season. Trevor is a hero because of his impacts on these kids lives. Trevor faced many obstacles while pursuing his dreams of becoming a teacher and a coach; meanwhile, he stayed positive through it all. In the words of Christopher Reeve, who played Superman in a couple of pictures, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles,” (Franklin) He faces the struggle of managing his time. Coaches are usually heroes in the eyes of young athletes. In “Psychology of Heroism,” one researcher explained that an attribute of heroes is that they do what they do out of freewill (Cherry, “Psychology of Heroism”). Trevor volunteers a couple places; he offered to work at the Salvation Army and at Denver’s weight room. He supervised their weight room occasionally in the summer. That is a huge part of what keeps their athletics going. Next, Trevor’s position at Denver is an unpaid assistant coaching position; therefore, he does this as a volunteer because he cares about the kids he coaches that he is willing to take no paycheck. Because this is his dream, he is willing to take an unpaid position and get the chance to change kids lives through coaching. The people who have inspired him to have and pursue this dream have really pushed him to go for it. He stated in an interview that all of his coaches in high school have inspired him, but one coach in particular stood out to him, and that was Coach Lenz. He respected Trevor even though he never wrestled varsity or never qualified for state. He strived to be just like his hero, and now he is actually living it. Trevor is a hero in the eyes of every kid he
“What leadership qualities should a chapter officer possess and which of those do you have. How will it help make a positive difference in the lives of Long Valley FFA members?” In today 's world the leaders are everything, from the president to the high school ffa officers. It is important to that are leaders have good responsibility and know how to make good choices.
In his early years of life, Rudy and his father idolized watching Notre Dame College football. But when it came to Rudy’s case, it was completely different. He went from idolizing Notre Dame to becoming determined that he would one day be playing college football where his father loves most, Notre Dame. Throughout his high school education, Rudy’s dedication to becoming

When I first signed up for sports communications the last thing I thought I’d be doing was not only meeting people like Mike Breen, Jim O’Connell, Steven Sheer, and Joe Yanarell, but speaking to them on a first hand basis and getting to know about their line of work. Each and every speaker not only told us about their line of work but told us about their stories on how they got to where they are and why try fell in love with what they do along the way. The three speakers that stood out to me the most were Mike Breen, Jim O’Connell, and Steven Sheer, but I would like to quote Joe Yanarell on a couple statements that seem to fit into each and every one of these men’s stories. First off, Mr. Yanarell said “you are going to fail and learn from it.” This quote goes a long way
Coaching Controversies : (What goes on behind closed doors?) Teammates. Friendships. Wins and loses. All these are related to one word : Sports!
Heroes are strong and brave like Ponyboy (in the “Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton). Heroes are someone that puts their life in danger for another to save them. Such as Ponyboy who is a hero because he saved all the children in the burning church. Also with Johnny he kills someone, but it is done in heroism to save his friend from being drowned.
He started to run and buy food for others and make a profit. He would “make so much money that he(I) could buy his(my) lunch using other kids’ money”(Noah, pg 140). He would also find his way into friendships using humor rather than similarities. He understood that “enough though he(I) didn’t belong to one group, he(I) could be a part of any group that was laughing”(Noah, pg 141). Trevor found a second way to use his intersectionality, he used his personality and ability to share jokes and make others laugh to make friends.
From single-legs and double-legs to showing ankle picks, those are some of the things that Jeff Voss has taught in his career as a wrestling coach at West Delaware which makes him a hero. His commitment to being a wrestling coach has developed a massive amount of talent to develop the knowledge of high school wrestlers. As a Coach, Voss has proven to show how he takes responsibility for his wrestlers on and off the mat all year round. His devotion to coaching has truly made him a hero. Growing up as a little boy in Coralville, Iowa, Jeff Voss had no idea what he would be capable of doing for his wrestling career.
A hero is a person who is admired by others for their outstanding achievments and for their courage. Johnny Cade is the real hero. He is nice, brave, caring, and also strong. Johnny sacrificed his life for litle kids.
In the end, a hero is more than just physical traits like strength and supernatural powers. Being a hero means being selfless, brave and putting other people before yourself. Victor best fit this description because he sacrificed years of his life, and even his own life knowing it would benefit the rest of the world. The determination, braveness, courage and devotion Victor had for a single experiment that could go wrong is true heroism.
“What makes Superman a hero is not that he has power, but that he has the wisdom and the maturity to use the power wisely...”(Christopher Reeve). What makes a hero? Is it having super strength or being able to turn to stone? The definition of a hero follows as, “A person,(typically a man), who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities”. Heros also must be kind hearted.
James appeared to need coaching at work. He gives the impression to be uninterested and unengaged. Managers had been over heard discussing his lack of organization and discipline at work. James was a very productive and effective employee under a different manger so he could be receptive to coaching. It is very important that the right coaching style be chosen for James.
A sport coach is a great profession for people who are passionate about certain sports. To be a great coach you need a solid foundation in your chosen sport, but you also need dedication and a passion for working with young athletes. There are many children and teenagers who become athletes because they like a certain sport, but with time they realize that they gain so much more than just sport skills. They gain discipline, motivation, friends and much more. So there 's a lot of moral responsibility that comes from coaching a team, but there are also other factors to take into account.
For example by working in the fields with members form his team and meeting their families in their homes he was able to show warmth and empathy. In order to do this he had to learn to be sensitive to cultural differences and learn first-hand why a lot of the parents needed their children to work in the fields, how important family and community is, and how to enable some of his team members to make time for both their job and cross country. By the end of the movie, Coach White was a leader who led by example. When he forgot his daughter’s birthday, he looked to his community for guidance and gave her a birthday she would not forget. He was not afraid to go out in the fields and work as hard as the boys he coached and helped them believe that they could do anything the set their minds
