South vs North The south thought they could do what they wanted .Before the Civil War the South depended on slavery and the North was more of a Industrial.Then there were arguments about slavery should not be in the new states .People came up with compromises to fix all the fuss of which state is free and which state is a slave one.Then later the south ignore the compromises and did what wanted which led to the civil war .the south seceded from the union by fighting for slavery,political differences, and economic and social differences. This essay will be about the north and south viewpoints on the Civil War. As well as the way that these viewpoints were the cause of the Civil War. One of the North’s viewpoints is that slavery should be outlawed. The South had the opposite viewpoint, they wanted to keep slavery. In the rest of this, I will explain the other viewpoints that the north and south had that either conflicted or were similar.
While they did not always agree, they at least could manage their differences. By 1860, the tables had turned. The country was not willing to negotiate with their rival. Most people don't know for sure why the American Civil War came to be. In his youth, he was taught by his family that the reason the South went to war was to fight for their State’s rights, but as an adult, he explains that it may not have been the only reason they fought after researching for himself.
In the late parts of the 19th century, the United States was in turmoil. Beginning in April of 1861, the division within the country boiled over and the Civil War began. There were many arguments over the morality of slavery and other ideologies. Throughout the war there was no clear advantage for either side. However, the North with several advantages and few disadvantages over the South, eventually won and ended the war.

As the United States of America developed as a country, the North and the South started differing in their economies, culture, and lifestyle. This created many problems for the United States because the South did not agree on the North 's views. In fact, the South was so different that they considered forming their own country. The South desired to preserve the institution of slavery, the principle of States’ Rights, and that all states in Confederacy issued an Article of Secession to break from the Union. One factor that led the South wanting to secede from the Union was that the South wanted to preserve slavery.
The North and South emerged as two distinct regions because they had various differences. These differences included the geography, the economy, slavery, and transportation. The North was built mainly on factories and trade and opposed slavery, while the South’s foundation was agriculture and slavery. The geography of the South was more rural than the North and the North had more means of transportation than the South. These drastic characteristics created a vast divide between the two regions.
When it came to morale, the South clearly had the advantage. For the most part, Southerns believed they were fighting to defend their homeland and protect their way of life. However, this was no match to Northern might in every other aspect of the conflict. Compared to the South, the North had a total population advantage of 2.5 to 1; a value of firearms produced at 31 to 1; corn and wheat production at 2.2 to 1; railroad mileage of 2.4 to 1; and a value of manufactured goods at 11 to 1. Thus, brute force in numbers gave the North a distinct advantage.
