Some may argue that you do not need education to be successful, looking at examples of one out of million people that made it in life without a highschool diploma; however, that is one out of million and education may not be a guarantee but at least it is a start. Education will always have value put in whatever situation and in whatever period in time, education is a start to push towards success. Because being able to see two totally different personal experiences on education they can come to agreement that education should be one’s first priority if they want to be living a happy successful life. Even though some people actually, very few people, become very successful without education.

Throughout high school, I have been involved in a great number of activities. These include athletics, clubs, and taking part in community service. I have played varsity field hockey my freshman, sophomore, and senior year of high school. I also played varsity lacrosse my freshman and sophomore year. The sport that I am most well known for is swimming, which I have participated in for all four years of high school.

The activity I enjoy outside of my classes is Lacrosse. I started playing Lacrosse in third grade by joining the Farmington Youth Lacrosse team. Lacrosse is something I care about because it is something I am good at and enjoy playing. I also like being on a lacrosse team because it helps me work together with other people and collaborate on group projects in school. What keeps me playing lacrosse is there is always something you can do better and trying to be the best you can be is fun and challenging.

Every fall, about 3 million children and their parents flock to football fields to play and watch the game they love. Although the monumental number of participants in youth football today, parents are still making decisions to let their child play contact football. However, children under the age of 18 should be allowed to play “contact football” because it teaches core values, fights childhood obesity, and improvements in technology have made football safer in the past 50 years. Childhood is the ideal time to learn life lessons and to grow your brain.

Mine have simply taught me to appreciate the value in education. Since early childhood, they’ve strongly urged me to prioritize school above all else and to learn from their mistakes, not wanting me to struggle as they did. My father has made me realize the importance in pursuing a higher education—it’s the best way to truly be successful and be able to give my family the life they deserve. From my mother I’ve learned the significance of pursuing a career that I will truly enjoy, since it is presumably what I will spend the rest of my life doing. Thanks to my parents, not only have I been university-bound since I was a toddler, but I’ve also genuinely enjoyed learning.

When people see someone grow it can influence them to do better and be better. It can take people out of dark times, times of poverty, and times of depression. A great education can change economics. A great education change democracies. A great education can change dreams. Honestly, I think Mr. Washington and Mr. Chestnutt both are right. I believe that having an education enables you to obtain knowledge to be successful and have economic worth.

This quote directly represents how I feel educating is important to one's self-improvement and the improvement of the work around them. It is crucial for a person to always keep learning, its what develops the brain, helps to form our character and it is a privilege that not all people are able to get. it is when we stop learning and educating ourselves out body becomes a useless vessel. But education can't help build a better future without action, one of my personal goals is to help people, inspire them and make their lives better. I was lucky enough to have a chance of getting an education, having food on my plate and a roof over my head in order for me to become who I am today.

In life, people will experience different things that will have an influence on who they are as well as who they will become. These experiences are in direct correlation to future success. Some believe that most of these experiences are outside of one 's own control, such as where he was born, where he goes to school or even a financial situation. While this makes sense, there is one thing that is within one 's control that will greatly increase the likelihood of one 's achievements. Playing sports in high school has a positive impact on future success.

But I am here to tell you, that it's not your legacy, your legacy is in what is remembered about you, and what you leave behind in people’s memories and actions. My family’s past experiences also teach me how to live my life the best way possible. For example, my parents did not finish college, so they were not able to obtain lucrative careers. Not finishing or not even going to college can take a toll on your life. If my parents finished college our life would have been more successful financially. The purpose of education is to create the “catalyst”, - the interest, the imagination, the self-confidence, the enthusiasm for further knowledge that helps a person grow beyond what they believe they can be. Education should help develop skills and knowledge, so students can be productive members of society. The more knowledge you have, the more opportunities you have in life. I think back to my childhood and the teachers that made an impact in my life. I want to be that catalyst for students.
