Compare and Contrast Macbeth and Film
Act 1 scene 1:
The 3 witches recited a spell or curse right away instead of starting with the first line in the play, “When shall we meet again..” (Shakespeare, 302).
The second version we watched was less dramatic than the 1948 movie. I don’t think it was even directed on a Scottish moor.
Act 1 scene 2:
This scene was entirely skipped.
Act 1 scene 3:
The witches still remain on the scene even though it states in the play that they left.
Macbeth and Banquo see the witches.
Macbeth overhears how Macbeth is the thane of Cawdor and Glamis and chases after because he was intrigued and wanted to find out more.

Macbeth attempts to talk himself out of this immortal deed, but Lady Macbeth jumps in and ruins everything. Thus leaving Macbeth no choice but to commit the crime.
Act 2 scene 1:

Act 2 scene 2:
This scene jumped back to act 1 scene 7 then to act 2 scene 1. After act 2 scene 1, they went back to act 2 scene 2. Then they took a little piece of act 2 scene 3 and went back to act 2 scene 2.
Obviously a lot of jumping back and forth within this

The example 2 is an act 3 scene 1 line 65 the quote “Upon my head placed a fruitless crown”. This quote is telling us how macbeth is greedy, for his position/power of being king. This quote is
This shows that people need to do the right thing no matter how hard it is so that events in real life do not get out of hand like they did in the play and like they did in the real Salem Witch
This gives the witches an unsettling vibe to them. I believe that this was the main concept that the director wanted to portray onto the

In most novel to film adaptations, directors will often change certain elements of the work for the movie to move at a different pace. These changes may range from the main character’s hair colour to larger transformations like an important character being left out. In the case of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the largest difference from the play to film was the role of Ross. This is shown through his involvement in Macbeth’s schemes, relationship with Macbeth, and loyalty to power in Scotland.
A large factor that significantly affects the plot of the play is the scene of the girls dancing in the woods. What happened is no where near what the rumors and lies that were being spread explained. The truth was that the girls, Betty, Abigail, Mercy, Susanna, Ruth, and Mary were dancing in the woods with Tituba, who was conjuring spirits, when Reverend Parris walked up and found them Betty became frightened and fell ill. The first lie that was started was by Reverend Parris.
