Compare And Contrast Thomas Jefferson And George Washington

Both Thomas Paine and Thomas Jefferson like many of the founding fathers of America share a ideology concerning independence and freedom in general. Although the two were notably talented writers, the difference in their arguments was their respective deliveries, writing styles, and their timing. Personally, I agree more with the way Thomas Paine chose to present his point of view. Common sense, for example, was a significant eye-opener for many Americans. One of the only reasons it made such huge impact was because it was written in a style that was easy to understand for the average American.

General George Washington and Captain John Paul Jones have many similarities but they also have their differences that make them unique. In the first paragraph it talks about General Washington and what characteristics he has that are different than Captain Jones's. In the second paragraph it talks about Captain Jones and what characteristics he has that are different from General Washington's. In the final paragraph it talks about what both Captain John Paul Jones and General George Washington have in common. General Washington has lots of great characteristics that make him unique and different than captain Jones.

Jefferson and the Republicans demand this, but at the same time, introduce religious endeavors into their own politics.

Here Tocqueville describes the way the United States’ government tends to external affairs or foreign reaction issues. He refers to the two people that in his view had the greatest impact on foreign policy in the United States at the time, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. It is definitely interesting to see the comments that Tocqueville sees as being so virtuous, in the light of the United States today. Imagine being the leading General of the Continental Army, George Washington. Imagine living in his big, fancy, house at Valley Forge. Now imagine being a soldier living at Valley Forge. No difference, right? Wrong.

The Age of Jefferson was from 1801 to 1825, distinguished by a focus on agrarianism, expansion, and a limited federal government. During Jefferson’s presidency, it was marked by the Louisiana Purchase. Which had doubled as big as the country. Besides, Jefferson’s philosophy emphasized the importance of individual liberty.

Compare the backgrounds of Jefferson and Paine; did Paine have an advantage or disadvantage by not being born in the colonies? Explain. Paine had the advantage of being able to see the issues from the outside and from a lower point of society. To be able to understand a bigger group of people is far more of an advancement than to always target the smaller group. Which was the cause of the colonies not wanting to be under rule.

When it comes to Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton the main difference between the two was their political party. The basis of each of their political parties set the boundaries for their beliefs and their views as politicians. Both men were founding fathers of our country, and made a huge impact on history as we know it. Without these men, our country's government might not be what it is today. One of the only similarities of Jefferson and Hamilton was their want to diminish national debt.
