Nursing practice requires both critical thinking and clinical reasoning. The article pointed to the several researches defining critical thinking skills. If I was taught 20 years ago what I know now. I am sure I would have been more prepared with the knowledge and skills of framing my mind to the critical thinking skills. Putting the skills and knowledge and applying them to my younger life. Although critical thinking can expose fallacies or bad reasoning, critical thinking is mainly used in strengthening arguments, improving theories and acquiring knowledge (). If you received a triage nurse that lacks decent critical thinking skills, someone could die of their wounds because another patient with a less serious injury was being treated. Therefore, People who are more capable of solving problems enjoy cognitive, emotional and communication skills at a higher level. They are able to build healthy relationships and suffer from less depression and anxiety [6,7,8]; Moreover, they have higher confidence and motivation to efficiently deal with problems [9]. The art of nursing requires knowledge, skills and expertise. Problem-solving is an essential skill contributing greatly to effective nursing performance [10]. Giving care to a patient is not a straightforward process because a patient is made up of advanced systems. Symptoms and the severity of a disease process are dependent on a particular patient, and it may not always be uniform from patient to patient. Because of this, nurses must be able to use their knowledge appropriately to help a patient. Nurses use techniques, such as Evidence Based Practice, in order to integrate new and advanced knowledge into their patient care (Canada, 2016). By exercising evidence based practice, nurses effectively seek knowledge, take experience from past situations, and apply this intelligence to best give patient care (Canada, 2016).
