The importance of music is unspoken because everyone has their own reason to appreciate it.
“Have some composure and where is your posture?” This song excerpt is very relatable to any kid because it is basically saying that you’re supposed to be composed and perfect, but you’re actually not. In this particular song, the meaning behind this lyric is that a woman was having a wedding and she’s supposed to be perfect and composed, but instead she shoots her friend. Models are meant to be perfect, and this model is cracking.
My personal favorite genre of music is either rock or alternative because if I’m feeling mad, sad, or frustrated, I can listen to rock and all my worries leave my mind. Some songs that instantly come to mind are, “Teenagers”

I understand that country music is a whole culture, but not to me. One thing about songs is that if you really listen to the lyrics of a song, you can start to relate to it. Kurt Cobain, late lead singer of Nirvana, wrote many beautiful songs like, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” I’ve listened to this song over and over, but I’ve never figured out the meaning of it. Sometimes songs are like that. For example, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. The lead singer never revealed the true meaning behind the song, but there are many theories. I can relate life in many ways to this because in life, sometimes things happen for a reason, but in many cases, you’ll never know …show more content…
Some things in life are too good to be true, and music is one of those things. Some people believe in Jesus Christ. Some believe in Rock and Roll! Obviously, I believe in Jesus, but Brendon Urie, who used to be a Mormon, believes in the religion of Rock and Roll. I don’t understand a lot of things in this world, but I have to believe in something, so I choose Jesus. Brendon Urie chooses to believe something different and every time something tragic happens in his life, he turns to the thing he loves-Rock and Roll. Another thing I figured out about music is that I can learn a timeline by humming it to the tune of any song. In conclusion, music is an outlet for people to express themselves. While growing up, I always had music around the house. What can I say? Music is a part of
Their story shows how in times of financial problems, family and love stands strong. Kenny Loggins wrote this song as a gift to his brother, Danny. There is an indirect theme which follows the entire story. This theme is love and
“A Black Fan of Country Music Finally Tells All”, by Lena Williams in which she confesses her love for country music after being embarrassed of showing it due to criticism, reminds me of how similar my experiences were to her essay. Although I don’t like country music nor was my music taste a hidden secret, I did however find myself in a position that Williams was in- defensive mode. When I discovered rock music one afternoon after watching countless cat videos on YouTube, I thought to myself “where has this song been all my life”. Like pop and hip-hop music, I imagined that liking rock music would only be a phase. Now after seven years I can say with certainty that my love for the music genre isn’t going anywhere.
The Country Music Association decided to add pop music elements into country music, such as a smoother sound, backing vocals, string arrangements, and polished singing, to try to draw a bigger audience to the country music genre. By adding more modern music elements such as pop, they will be able to make country music mainstream and attract
My Theme Song Songs can connect with how we feel and our experiences. Music has been a major part of my life ever since I was just a toddler. For me music has helped me express what I am feeling and who I am as a person. My therapy has been music, it has helped me through almost every problem I have faced. With listening to the song lyrics, we can get a true understanding of what the artist is trying to tell us.
All over the world, people express their culture and their way of life in the form of music. In the early nineteen-hundreds America was beginning to form their own genre of music, which would come to be known as country music. When we think of country music, we often think of hillbillies, cowboys, a pair of boots and blue jeans, but it's much more than that. Country music is more than just songs; it's become a way of life in America. Country music was formed out of the genre of Appalachian folk music in the southern United States.
I interviewed one of my high school science teachers about her favorite song. Dr. Barr told me that her favorite song is from the bluegrass genre called “Wagon Wheel” (I had never heard this song before). She said that this song is her favorite because it is really catchy, but it does not have any special meaning for her. I asked her if she was able to remember this song’s lyrics and she could recall them partially. “Wagon Wheel” was released in the year of 2004 by a group called Old Crow Medicine Show and the instruments used during the song are banjos and guitars.
Music can bring the brightest of joys that keeps us moving through our dull and boring lives. An example of this joy is Ishmael Beah’s life as a boy soldier in his book A Long Way Gone. As he tells you his story, he tells of his dance group with his friends, the times he heard music in the middle of war, and how music saved him from the madness that brewed within him. Music has the unique ability to create peace in a person’s life despite the difficulties surrounding them, and to bring a constant reminder of who they are as a person.
According to The Bedford Book of Genres “A genre is a composition’s kind, category, or sort. Genres give us a way to categorize or describe types of compositions”. (Braziller and Kleinfeld) One genre of music is country. There are two things we need to know about genres; “First, genres change according to the ways people use them” and “Second, genres are flexible”.
The meaning is “love who you love and don’t change who you are” thats the meaning behind this song. The
Everything I do revolves around my music. I have been around music all my life, whether it was listening to it or playing it. I’m very passionate about music and I love playing an instrument. The instrument
Music carries each and every one of us to a new awareness. It can reach to the innermost part of an individual. Music can envelope our emotions from tears all the way to our joy. It captivates and motivates. As I attended a concert on Saturday, November 7, 2015, Lynyrd Skynyrd performed with power and feeling to their audience.
“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything” (Plato). If my childhood was filled with anything: it was imagination. From my earliest memories of my cousin, and I putting on a sold out concert on my papaw’s front porch; to putting my baby dolls to sleep with lullabies. Music has always been a big part of my life: it was the one thing I could always count on, no matter where I went; and that still stands true today.
Reason to listen: I think it’s safe to say that all of you have listened to or heard music at one point of your life, but did you know music influences and manipulates us more than we know? III. Thesis Statement: Today I am going to tell you about an aspect of human culture that appears just about everywhere you go: music. IV. Credibility Statement: Being a big music lover, I was curious about how much music really affected me, and hence my research began.
Music has always been a part of my life. In definition, it is “vocal or instrumental sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.” Ever since I was a young child, I have loved music. The strong, steady beats, the entrancing melodies, and the lyrics that vary between heartwarming and heart-wrenching have always had an unexplainable effect on my life. Music seems to have the ability to change certain aspects of my world.
tells a story. The only thing is, it doesn’t go into a whole backstory. It’s open for interpretation. This is a wonderous thing about songs, and it definitely sets them apart from novels. Readers know everything important about
