My motivation in life thrives when I face challenges. My biggest challenge was moving away from my family and developing my network on my own. Growing up as a member of a Korean family, our greatest values are gathering and having quality time. Thus, it was hard to accept that I am no longer involved in family times due to the long distance. However, as I had more time for myself, I could look back at myself and explore my interest.

Post an identification and analysis of your personal sources of motivation as an employee or student. My personal source of motivation is the skill development motivation, and has been for over 5 years now. It also to some degree is personal goals motivation as these two go hand in hand. Perfectionist: Although it can be a great thing that I pay attention to detail and spend time on everything until I am happy with it, I tend to wear myself a little thin because I have such high expectations of myself. Closed Off: I tend to bottle up my emotions a lot of the time and this is very unhealthy. It causes more stress and emotional damage than if I were to talk about my feelings more.

I witnessed firsthand how procrastinating had made my life and the life of those around me so much harder and stressful than it needed to be. I have struggled with my bad habit of procrastinating for a long time and although it has gotten better, I still haven’t completely overcome it. It’s something that affects my life everyday. Not only that, but it’s a conscious decision I still choose most of the time. It makes my life harder and isn’t beneficial in anyway, but I just can’t seem to stop procrastinating.
