Success, defined as attaining personal goals and having in-depth relations with loved ones, is, in reality, a very complicated term. The idea of success holds different meanings for anyone who ponders it, involving money, power, glory, happiness, security, comfort, love, and many other elements. The attainment of goals seems to be at the heart of every definition. Even so, success cannot be tethered down to any one form. Success in its purest form cannot be forced to attain real prosperity, it holds deeper layers than are commonly visible from the surface, and even the best of successes have perils and negative effects.

Success, a word we hear everyday and live our lives to achieve, but what does it mean to you? Throughout this school year, while exploring success I have learned what success means to me. While your stand may not be acceptable to others, success is when you have found happiness in your position in life, because you know you have given it your all , and have become a person you are happy being. People have a habit of basing their success off of the expectations of others.

If you were to ask a few people how they measured success, most of the answers would vary. Some may state that is based on your monetary value or that it is measured by your happiness. Yet, these answers can be categorized by a broad definition: success is achieving the goal you set your mind to. Malcolm Gladwell, in his book Outliers, challenges the societal view of how success is ultimately obtained. The author states “...if you work hard enough and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to your desires” to emphasize the importance of persistence and work ethic when looking for success (Gladwell 151).

Instead, in order to live a fulfilling life, people must accept the situation that they’re in, only wishing to change their part of it. This reminds me of all the people I know who have a very poor life situation, but are happier than many people with a good one, because the only way to live life fulfillingly is not to dwell, rather to enjoy what counts. 73. People often become overly fixated on how “successful” they are in one scored area of the economy and social hierarchy, such as their school grades, job position, or income.

Many Americans experience different emotions throughout their lives with having a baby or a new car or house. Happiness is a state of emotion and a state of well-being. According to Abraham Lincoln, “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” Take a peek at three things that people can choose to be happy. The first thing people can choose to be happy is to respect others.

What does it mean to be Successful? Success can mean many things to many different people. Being successful means to reach all of the goals that are set ahead. Every person is different, and that means that each person sees success differently. To some people being successful could be as simple as getting out of bed or getting to work on time.

It seems as if every person I’ve ever met has one goal in life. They chase after one common aspect of life and set it as their primary goal. Everyone chases after happiness. While it is so common for people to chase after a single thing; the irony of the matter is that each person's definition of happiness is so much different than another’s. This very unique and makes happiness so exquisite, my definition for happiness will vary from your definition.

In our world, people usually associate success with either money, money, or money. Success shouldn’t be about how much money we earn, how good our job is, or how famous we are. It should be about our own personal goals and aims in life. I think everyone’s definition of success is different. For each individual, success is something that makes them feel proud.

It is clear that happiness is the ultimate everyone’s goal. But it seems like people have their own version when it comes to defining happiness and determining the main factor to acquiring happiness. Happiness is an abstract, subjective concept that its definition varies according to culture, religion and personal background. While Buddhists believe that by detaching oneself from all passions, needs and wants of life, people can achieve happiness; Christians are taught that dedicating one’s life to helping people with pure altruism is the way to obtain eternity happiness.

Success Human beings like success. Yet, what is success? What is the definition of success? There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes. Some people argue that success is making a lot of wealth or getting first place in everything.

Success. Such a simple word, yet it is one of the most complicated aspects of an individual’s life. It could possibly have different interpretation for different individuals. Be it having a vast amount of wealth like the great Mali King Mansa Musa, or owning a great business empire that stretches beyond the horizon like Bill Gates. In this materialistic society in a competitive world, success is often portrayed by an individual’s wealth and material belongings, be it the latest smartphone, the classiest sports car, or maybe even the luxurious mansion at a private estate.

Success is an important thing in everyone’s life it is a point in which they go from being average or below average to achieving a goal and doing better than others. Success can be defined as “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose” – Google, or in other words; one sets a goal for them to achieve and within time they succeed and achieve that goal they set. This changes from person to person because different people set different goals. For example, one can succeed in athletics while another person succeeds in academics.
